It pays 10 hrs to R+R the transmission. So, quote is about right.
Also, you have to factor in things that can go wrong. Like broken cat convertor bolts.
Those are the cam profile solenoids.
The "tube " is the retaining bolt.

The cannister can be rotated to access the retaining bolts on the leak detection pump.
To remove the cannister, the body will have to be lifted up off the frame a couple inches.
I would jack up the right front wheel and make sure the wheel bearings are ok. Grab the top and bottom of the wheel ( 12 and 6 o'clock) and rock in and out.
If they are, replace the wheel speed sensor.
It's kind of a grey area.
The tech had to swap the sensors to see if the concern was corrected.
IMO, that's part of the diagnostic charge. If they tried to sell you a senor, then the labor time is added.
