    Weird suspension fault

Yeah, that'd be nice. Sadly, I haven't really seen anything. But that doesn't mean it isn't a useful tool...just difficult to use without poking around and trying to figure it out.

    Another Coolant pass over issue

Short answer: no. The parts in question allow coolant to flow from one head to the other and back, from what I can tell. You'd be preventing the heads from getting coolant.

Crazy to add Tactical Rear bumper at 104k?

With removal and everything was probably closer to 90 minutes. AND I was trying to do wiring, too (I bought the rear parking sensor option..skip that, because mine don't work with the spare there). 12 hours is ridiculous unless the howler monkey they have doing it has lost one arm and only the...

Crazy to add Tactical Rear bumper at 104k?

Wow! I installed mine by myself in about an hour with the help of a floor jack. $2k additional for that?

    Lr4 5.0 serpentine belt issue

If I remember right, there are two slightly different lengths specified for my 2016 belt. Is it possible you have the wrong one between those two?

    Lr4 5.0 serpentine belt issue

Gone, I suppose, are the days when you had one positive lead to the AC clutch that you could just put voltage to to test it out. If you do the above test with the belt off, I'd do it with the engine cold, and have someone else starting and stopping the vehicle so you can watch what is...

    LR4 Binding Brakes

If it were me, I'd be checking to make sure that the calipers can all move freely. Freely both in terms of how they move on the caliper pins (good high temp grease there, rubber boots not binding, etc.) and that the pistons themselves are moving well. And I'd start with the caliper pins, because...

    Terrafirma hidden winch install

Thanks again. Still trying to figure out how you're using this. It doesn't say whether this is NC or NO (normally open), but most relays are the latter. So you have to flip a switch in your cab to get power to the winch? And I didn't see anything about thermal protection here, either.

    Terrafirma hidden winch install

Thanks for that. So the main power feed to the winch relays is what trips this guy to connect the source power to the battery? What relay did you use?

    Terrafirma hidden winch install

@djkaosone I'm wondering what it is you're isolating with this relay, and how? Are you just using it as a thermal fuse? I'd expect the controller to have its own relays, so... Basically, I'm not following. ;)

When is it time to say goodbye?

I'd agree with this one. In my case, I had a Chevy Astro to haul my guitar and PA gear to gigs, a Jeep Liberty that I had done a little offroading in but which wasn't really capable, and a Model 3 Tesla that I bought cheap before the pandemic when I was still commuting. Sold all of them and...

    Control arm questions

I had read your prior posts, @ryanjl , and tried to buy them. Apparently Atlantic British no longer makes the LCA assembly with those poly bushings, even though they seem to offer every other one. When I inquired, "Correct we do not have this item , not made" was all I got. Trying to decide...

    Control arm questions

I believe what I've read here indicates that it is largely the lower front control arms that tend to go south, at least at lower mileages like mine (50k). And it even tends to be the rear bushing that goes bad first. So I plan to replace those, likely with poly bushing assemblies if I can find...

    Moab trails with rooftop tent?

Yeah, I had a 1990. I'd put a Toyota tranny in it with two Marlin crawler transfer cases in it, and did a bunch of suspension work to get things moving more freely, plus the traction difs. That thing was amazing. But too small for a family.

    Moab trails with rooftop tent?

Thanks, @PatriotLandyTX . Our suspensions are pretty close to identical, so this is exactly the kind of feedback I was looking for. And yes, fantastic shots!

    Moab trails with rooftop tent?

Absolutely right. However, I didn't really ask "why should I not take my rooftop tent." I was wondering if people have done any of these trails with one.

    Moab trails with rooftop tent?

Partner with a bad back and knees seeking comfort. She loves the RTT. And I confess I'm spoiled, too; I spent literally hundreds of nights sleeping on that sand and sandstone down there, so I don't feel like I have to prove myself. ;)

Best roof rails and roof rack?

I have the Rhino Rack Pioneer platform on their backbone mounts. It works pretty well, doesn't stick up a lot, and is very flexible. The downside is that I think the channels are really wider than they need to be, and it's pretty heavy, and I had to make an air deflector for it.

    Moab trails with rooftop tent?

I was thinking about Hell’s Revenge, Fins & Things, Poison Spider.? I remember sections of those that are steep enough that you can’t always control your speed as much as you’d like, and you have to be ready for a dynamic descent.

    Moab trails with rooftop tent?

I used to be a river guide down by Moab, and ran trails around there when I had a built-up Isuzu Amigo.* Anyway, I'm heading down there in June with my gal to show her around in my 2016 HSE with 33" tires and run some of the less adventurous trails, camp out in the desert. I don't mean to run...

@Paul M I'm curious about this one. The only one I've seen on their site is a 38 gallon one for $2300.

@avslash , which Kenwood model did you use? I'm looking for something without the parking guides anyway.

    Relocating backup camera

I did not take a photo of the screen, but I think the combination of the Tactical 4x4 tire mount and the 275/70R18 tires blocked a lot of my camera. Just yesterday, I installed a WickedHD WRC-117 ($12 at Amazon!) middle of the spare tire plate, peaking out through where the center cap should...

Has anyone reflashed their 3.0SC V6 aka Tune?

Any tips on how to most easily/quickly remove and replace the crank pulley from those with the experience?
