I've heard that some shops will blow them out from the bottom, I've also seen people blow them out from the top or thread some weedwacker cord down the drain tube. I've also heard these tubes can collapse? Mine seem to have gone from sort of bad, to overflowing on pretty much any rain. Headliner is getting worked over with stains :(

Carefully blow out from either end.
You can cut the convoluted end off the drains behind the fender vents. Stuff tend to back up at this restriction.

I lowered the front of my headliner, removed the hoses then blew with mouth. Next time, I'll just blow a bit of compressed air at the drain opening. I won't be dropping my headliner again unless it's to repair something. I ran a de-humidifier for about two weeks 24hrs with the front carpet lifted up a bit to remove all of the moisture.

I think i’d try running the weedwacker cord through first . I’d be worried the compressed air could blow a tube loose, especially if there is a clog.

I use weedwacker cord as mentioned above.

I‘ve also observed a dealership service center using warm water heated up in a kettle.

I’ve cleared our Lr3 and lr4 drains via the weedwhacker method several times.

But question… what purpose does the constriction serve at the end of the line? If I didn’t know better I would say it was designed to catch debris and cause a clog.

Seems common to all sunroof drain designs regardless of marque do the must be a reason for it to be there. ( Giving engineers the benefit of doubt here! )

Working on Dr side S/R drain issue.....again. Line is clear, but drains slow. I removed the fender vent, then removed the black piece of rubber (vent pipe support) that sits behind the plastic air vent, inside the cavity on the right side (facing the DR fender). The rubber is concave on one side to form fit against the plastic intake pipe , and the back is flat, with rectangular area removed to allow the water to come out the SR drain. I am wondering if somehow this is restricting the flow as when I removed the rubber support, water drains much better. Anyone experienced this particular issue?

Edit: This was not the problem. Still troubleshooting.

I wonder if this is something to do regularly to prevent them clogging completely. I had the drains completely clogged a couple of years ago and had the elbows replaced. Where should I insert the weedwacker line? In the actual drain in the sunroof?

I’ve tried to check mine but I can’t for the life of me find the holes to feed line through

In the sunroof area they're in the front corners, you see a little channel that leads to the hole but this is all really small stuff... The hole in the intake area can be found behind the foam block, it's not overly obvious so just keep looking you'll see it eventually.

Top clean mine out I went in both directions but had better luck going from the sun roof down.
