3oz sounds about right. Just did front coolant pipes on my 16' LR4. I left S/C installed. Pulled SC snout. Replaced coupler with solid oem Eaton. Syringe removed 2.5 Oz of oil. Refilled with same. Draining the SC upside down prolly gets the Xtra .5 Oz.
Yep. When I serviced the trans on our 16' model it was the same. Cooler lines were wet. Also the same coming from drivers valve cover or vaccuum pump. Hard to tell from below. Degreased everything. Not a concern until it starts marking its territory.
If in doubt buy the larger 80w version of what you posted. Mine does gear oil just fine. You can hear the electric motor working harder and it pumps a tad slower.
I use a very similar version of that electric pump. Its an 80s napa version. I use a 3gal pool chemical bucket to pump used oil into. Mine has no problem doing gear oil.
Ok all done. Diffs and TC oil looked great. Diffs were still yellow amber color. Normal mush on plug magnets. Mobil 1 75w90 Syn. TC got Royal Purple Synchromax.
Trans service about 4 hrs or 3 beer job. Fluid was still green, just darker than new stuff. Drained out 4.5 qts total...
I've purchased VW parts from them in the past. Good fast shipping.
Does the ZF8HP have an external transmission cooler? I'll find out when I crawl under and look for sure.
LR4 just hit 50k. Doing the diffs, tc and trans service. 16' with ZF8HP trans. Here's the best price I could find on ZF pan and fluid. Don't mind the BMW part number. It's the same for the LR4.
42k miles. Wife's 16. Stock front pads around 1/4 left. I replaced rear pads with the Powerstop Z17 Ceramic pads. Rotors were ok and reused. Follow their bead in procedure and all is good. Same breaking ability and far less dust. I run these on my Sierra with same results.
2500 miles on pads...
