Old motor is in the shipping crate, new motor is on the stand. Those flywheel bolts were absolutely bathed in red loctite, big 1/2" impact really had to work. I went 9 for 10 though. One of them rounded over and I tried every trick short of welding a nut on. I resorted to just gently grinding down until it was free.

I think rockauto is trying to tell me I bought the wrong vehicle with the latest magnet.

Most everyone around here is driving a Tacoma, Tundra or a 4Runner. Even with all the problems I'm having, still wouldn't want a Toyota lol.

Permatex ultra gray sensor safe good enough for the valve covers? Manual calls for loctite 5900/5901g.

No idea, but the Loctite is specific about the gap height its tested to fill where as Permatex doesn't offer that spec and the Permatex has complicated instructions that I wouldn't want to deal with. I personally would get the loctite.

Yup, they literally make the stock arms but Land Rover puts a stamp on it and sells it for much more. Part numbers and everything match up on the Land Rover stamped ones and on the lemforder ones.

I believe lemforder put the stamp on when they make them. Mine had that area ground a bit to crudely remove the logo before paint.

New motor is getting all dressed up. Oil cooler, valve covers, and high pressure fuel pumps are on. Drilled out some holes in the intakes and put in some heli-coils. Went to the dealer for parts twice today. A bunch of the gasket kits I got were incomplete, very frustrating. Have to go back again tomorrow because there's only one gasket for the water pump.

Tech said hondabond or ultra seal would be fine for the valve cover gasket.

I might have missed one, counting to 10 is hard.

Not sure when I broke this, but it goes on the end of the short hose coming out of the throttle body. The barb that goes into that hose broke, fat side connects to LR 014567, barb coming off at an angle connects to nothing if I remember right. What part is this?
