i have a 98 disco with whole upper end of motor redone... just performed a head gasekt replacment so i replaced all upper gaskets as well.... motor has unknown milage but runs great..... the issue i have is when i accelerate theirs a SQEAKING noise coming right from underneath the truck... can not figure out if its the transmission or the driveshaft....i have not change the filter or fluid in the trans since i purchased it.... thats just for info, but would it be smart to grease the bearings first on the driveshaft and see if thats it? also could it be the u joints?? when the gas pedal is touched it sqeak sqeak sqeak, a gradual increase in the sqeak... but when i lift my foot off of accelerator then no sqeak.

Sounds like you may not have greased your u-joints in awhile. If that is the case, try greasing them or better yet replace them all if they have been done in a year or more.

Does it squeak when not in gear? If so I would replace the s-belt adjuster

Could also be a brake squeak.... drive real slow and have someone walk near and listen... be careful not to run them over
