I am attempting to install my rear lamp guards and I have a question regarding the spacing of the guard in relation to the rear body panel. Is there a space between the guard and the panel or is it supposed to fit flush? My concern if it is supposed to sit flush is that the rivnut placement will be on the body seam. If someone could provide me with some pics it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Spencer

Hello Spencer,

Here are a couple photos of my rear lamp guards. I had them professionally installed, so hopefully they are correct. I did install a pair on my previous 2011 and I will tell you that it is very important that you drill the 10mm hole in the exact location.

David,
Thanks for the pics. That is helpful. As I am a little OCD, I wanted to ensure that I put the rivnuts in the right place the first time.

Thanks again for taking the time to post some pics.

You are very welcome!

Utilize your OCD when installing, because on my 2011, I was slightly off and it actually rubbed against the top latch glass. There is not much clearance anyway.

Good luck!
