1998 dis 2 forgot the code have had vehicle since new lost little piece of paper that it was wrote on somehow in last ten yrs

Call your local land rover dealer to get the code... they may require you to be able to prove it is your Land Rover, but there should be no charge for this.

All the dealer will ask for is your VIN #. If the code does not work then you will have to pull the stereo and give them the serial number off the back of the unit. That is what I had to do with mine. Some where along the line previous owner changed the stereo to another factory one and my VIN # didn't match. But they were able to use the sereial number. If the stealership asks you to bring it in that is all they will do. $450.00 bones and 20 min later. What a rip off.
