I have a 99 Range Rover...If you try to accelerate quickly there is a loud popping noise and it feels like something is slipping--however, gears still engage and it accelerates it just sounds awful? Took it to a local mechanic and he said the joints all look good...however, he was unable to assess where it was coming from. Has anyone had this occur? Transmission, Driveshaft, Differential? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Not sure because mine only popped once and then broke. But it was the flex plate in the trans. Don't know how it would act if it was only partially broken but it seems like it might act like that...and it only had 55000 miles at the time.
