Hello All,
I wrote a week or 2 ago while I was disassembling my new to me Rover. I have found the issue. The Left Bank Intake Cam seized up due to something getting into the Oil Galley. There was mainly one(bearing) that caused the seizure, but 2 more had light scarring. Whats my best approach, as my head and cam are both shot. Should I scrap the engine and find a used one, or start looking for a head and go through the work of replacing the head. and hope there is nothing else in the engine that is damaged.
I have not drained the oil yet, but I will do so tomorrow, as well as cut the oil filter open and take a look and find out what got in the system. Assuming I dont find anything significant, whats the opinion on the best course of action?
Engine has 144k on it.
