There may be some folk out there who have remembered the saga of my TD6 engine which has all sorts of issues following a dose (or doses) of diesel fuel that was blended with animal/vegetable oil plus it had 22 times the allowable limit of moisture.
Injectors were rebuilt (some replaced) but...
Rust in injectors
Having had a back operation I could do no more work on engine myself so It was sent by truck to local dealer who could not start it after a week. I then took one injector that I had removed due to a misfire after only being installed for 50 kilometres after having had it...
Major problem turned out to be contaminated diesel fuel that blocked injectors as quick as they were fitted.
Car currently being repaired.
Traced the fuel to a local outlet and they refuse to close down the bowser and the oil company say they cannot force them to do so.
What a fiasco!
Thanks to USMC3051
Great to hear from you and I await further news.
it is some consolation that I am not alone.
I had to send my car on a tow truck (5th such a ride for my car) to dealer as after my back operation i needed to be careful about the stretching that is needed once I start...
Further to my earlier reply: I removed all injectors and had them ultrasonically cleaned and tested and all were good.
Reassembled car and it ran fine for about 50 k's and than had a dead cylinder again so I fitted another injector and it ran fine for about 30 K's and after that it ran very...
Car was purchased new and has 113,000 kilometres up.
Recently it would not start so I sent it to the dealer on a tow truck. (4th trip on tow truck!)
They said it wanted (and fitted) a chassis mounted fuel pump. This had been replaced 40,000 earlier, but OK I got a new one.
After fitting...
Thanks a lot for your response.
I did manage to get a hard copy manual but I will also follow your idea and get a download copy that I can carry on a netbook,
Regards fron uteman
You need to provide more information. Right now we do not even know if the car is petrol or diesel.
Sounds like my ringing me while I was interstate and being surprised when I could not tell her what the funny noise was in her car!
Give more info and somewill help.
I will assist if I can
Firstly I find it amazing that so many viewers can look at this and not at least offer moral support.
In my view that is what Forums are about and I hope that comment does not offend anyone.
My car does not have the GPS system so it may be different to yours.
I have a...
Twice my car has blocked the depression limiter filter sending oil gushing out the dipstick tube and anywhere else it could escape.
I have just removed the inlet maniflod to fit a new injector and find sludge in the inlet ports and manifold and there are extensive amounts.
All that the dealer...
I just wrote a lengthy reply that has shot of into cyberspace and is lost. Damn!!
Twice the depression filter in rocker cover has blocked and sent litres of oil out through dipstick tuube and clouds of smoke enveloped the car. Not a service schedule for this item from L/R but BMW do include...
I have just downladed a 28 megabyte manual for an L322 from landroverweb.com but whilst it is a good description manual it does not really tell me how to go about troubleshooting and repairing.
Can anyone direct me to something more suitable?
My car is a 2003 build TD6
at 117,000 kilometres I am replacing the low pressure fuel pump for the second time.
Has anyone else had similar problems?
At 117 k's this car has ridden on a tow truck 5 times and I am disgusted.
I purchased it new.
My car has 97,000 kilometres on the clock.
It has developed a significant "clunk" in the L/H front suspension.
I have yet to do a full search for the problem but there may be someone who has had a similar problem.
The clunk emits when changing steering direction and when I hit a significant...
:cool:My car has a failed rear wiper motor.
I removed it and tested the electrical motor which is working just fine.
A lot of dust has entered the gearing and as a result the large plastic gear has worn teeth to the point where there is no drive.
There is no seal of any sort such as a gasket...
