Thanks guys, PVC trap is pretty new but I'll check it, had the coil checked and it was good, just did a fuel pressure test a couple days ago and the fuel filter is new also. Is there a way to test the temp sensor?
Hey!
Recently my 93' RRC stalls after it warms ups then will not start again till it cools down. Would this by the thermostat or the coolant temp sender? Or what.........??
Thanks
Jake
Where do I check the fuel pressure at the rail?
The RRC wont start. Ive removed the fuel pump and verified its working, filters new, but now I need to check pressure at the rail. I also need to buy a guage. I guess any autozone version will do?
Thanks
In researching surging issues, I found that the stepper motor could be at fault so I removed it to clean it but was wondering if the cone shaped plunger could / should be able to be moved by hand back and forth. Mine is completely immovable.
Thanks
And another........
So now the charging sys is working great and for the first couple days it was running really strong, now on startup it sputs and studders and the rpm's drop almost to the point of stalling. After a couple seconds of that it starts to idle okay but theres a heavy smell of...
Twas the alternator. Dang thing!!!! It was only 8 mo. old. With the new one in and a new battery, she's purring like a kitten. Tach works, lights are steady, motors strong. Finally!!
This time a got one from autozone with a lifetime warranty. Guess I learnt' my lesson on buying cheap stuff...
Oh yeah, any recommendations for batteries or is just any standard unit okay?
Also, the battery was replaced while the previous alternator was in place causing me to have to constantly recharge it. Could this have anything to do with the shorter life of the battery?
Thanks
Hello.
Initial problem is the battery dying if let sit for more than 3 days. I've looked all over for what could be causing the drain but no luck. Found a site that said possibly the cd changer but I have gutted all stereo components so that cant be it. Next, my lights (interior and headlights)...
Okay. I got the right manual (sort of, its definitely not 93' specific). I figured out where the starter relay is and swapped it with an identical one. No difference. Loud click of the solinoid engaging but no crank. Checked the fuses and all are good. Now what?
Thanks
Yes the sol is part of the unit. Even if I had the unit tested at an auto parts store and it checked out okay, is it possible that once in the car it wouldnt work? Is the install method different than the test method?
Thanks
"I got going with a jumper switch I carry in the tool kit, and my later diagnostic efforts narrowed the the problem to a relay on the firewall that supplies the starter solenoid." (taken from supplied site link)
Where might I find this relay?
I looked at the link on the bottom of your sig...
Well, Im assuming its the right unit. It looks identical, the #'s stamped into the unit match the OEM unit and it fit like a glove.
Yes, I diss the battery and sorry I dont know the screwdriver trick. (but Id love to learn)
Thanks
My starter recently died. I planned on a rebuild so I took it apart to find the brushes almost completely gone. No prob, I'll order a rebuild kit. Wrong. Couldnt find one for the 93' so I ordered a new unit off ebay. Installed it and all I get is a click. Took it out and down to local auto...
