Recently my LR3 will not power down the radio after I remove the keys from the ignition and lock the car. Even after the dome light, headlights (Follow me home lights), and dash light shut down, the radio light remains on. In addition I can sit in the car, lock it, and can still play the radio and change the volume even with steering wheel controls. This has to be draining my battery and I can't figure it out. It just started happening. Any ideas/experience?

It eventually turns off. You don't happen to have a Bluetooth phone attached, do you? That increases the time it stays on.

The radio and nav should turn off when you take the key out of the ignition.

the radio/speakers does turn off when the key is removed. however the lcd stays on and the radio can be turned back on by pushing the volume button. eventually it does turn off but it must take more than 5 minutes to do so.

ok, so...what's the problem again? This is a pretty common feature in many european marks like vw and audi.

Hey...Cowpie. Like grommet said...it's normal. We had a long thread discussing this and even some people timing the thing and seeing how long it will take. In fact, if you power everything down and then lock the car with the key remote you're fine it will be off straight away...but if you then unlock it with the key remote, the LCD will power back up (and maybe the radio, I dont' remember). Then when you lock it again the stuff will stay on once again. ...but after about 10 minutes it shuts off.

Bottom line is: Don't worry about it.

They display turns on because it doubles as a clock. Probably with the 07's this won't happen anymore.
