The other night I was changing the oil on the rig and I set the park brake when I was done I started the rover up and went to release the park brake it seemed like it released and I baked it off the ramps but the (red) & (orange) park brake lights started flashing so I shut it off and tried again this time only the (red) was flashing. So I unhooked the battery waited about 5min and tried again same thing (red) still flashing I pulled up on the lever and the (red) and (orange) started flashing so I unhooked the battery again and let it sit that way all night the next morning hooked it all up and still (red) flashing everytime you hit the button (red) & (orange) flash until you shut it off and remove the key then the (orange) go's away it didnt seem like the brakes where in gauged until my wife went to drive it she made it about 2miles and called me saying it smelled really bad and was acting funny I told her to bring it back when she pulled up the rear park brakes where smoking I let it sit and took it for a drive it acted fine so I decided to pull the cable and it had a very slite pop to it like it was slightly ingaged I have hooked it up to a scanner and there are no codes pulling up.
Its a 2005 LR3 with 125000 miles and at first has had every problem that the LR3 has ever had even some I bet no one has seen.
Please any advice would be great!
Thanks

You need to have the fault codes pulled to see why the light came on in the first place, there have been several issues with corrosion on different parts of the wiring for the system.

However, now that it did lock up, and drag, you may be looking at a pretty involved repair, depending on if any damage was done.

You need to remove the rear brake rotors to inspect the parking brake shoes. If they are cracked and damaged, they need to be replaced. While doing that, remove the cable from the shoes and check to see if the clear inner sheathing of the cable has melted due to the heat of them dragging. If it has, the cables would also need to be replaced. If the P/B has not been activated since the dragging event, then the actuator may still be fine, and the cables can be replaced separately.

Removing the brakes is step one of what may very well be a several step repair.
