HELP! Very loud tapping at speed/under load only?

Do you have a mechanics stethascope or a long screw driver.... sounds like it is an engine noise... I would start checking all point on the engine and even the alternator and power steering pump...

Could be anything, but I would start by using a scope.

Yes. I have one, but the problem is it simply will not make the noise no matter what when stopped, os I cant listen for it with stethescope.

Also, though it does sound like an engine noise when it happens. The mechanic I took for a ride seemed to think it was drivetrain and not engine at all.

Wierd. It sound to me driving like it is coming from underneath near the drives side cat or bell housing or behind the firewall from me somewhere. Does seem lower towrad bottom though.
