Discovery sport boot not unlocking

Hi my name is will can anyone tell me how to open a boot on a 15 plate discovery sport I have fitted a new battery and still it won't open it says on the dash that the boot is not locked but it is solid and the car won't lock because the boot is open there are no beeps on the button can anyone help .

2 options take the inner door panel off and open the boot, or take it to a shop and they will do it. Sounds like a sensor or the latch unit went bad.

Had the same problem and fixed it. The problem is that the connection of the ground wire used for the motor and switch is broken inside the lock actuator. Replacing the actuator is an option. The other option is to connect a ground wire into the lock. The ground wire is the middle wire on the plug. I got to the lock by removing the top side of the lower boot panel. Remove the screws behind the handle. Than you can pull on the top side. The lower part is locked in the lock. Pic 1 shows where i soldered the ground wire in the lock. 2 shows the lever that manually opens the lock. 3 is the bold behind the cover to remove the lock. 4 the ground wire
