Hello Everyone,
So, I decided to replace the brake fluid on my 2015 LR4. I did a complete flush with a manual vacuum pump. The thing is that I believe I used the incorrect brake fluid. The workshop manual specifies shell donax yb dot4 esl (ISO 4925 Class 6 viscosity 750 mm/s2) which is nearly impossible to get so I went for the Pentosin Super DOT 4, after doing all the work I realized that Super DOT 4 is specified as ISO 4925 Class 4 (viscosity 1500 mm/s2) and what was required was ISO 4925 Class 6 which is a lower viscosity fluid. So I should've used Pentosin Super DOT 4 LV. Atlantic British sells ATE SL for the LR4 however I believe the correct fluid should be ATE SL.6. They seem to no longer offer Castrol DOT4.
The question is, should I try to empty the whole brake system and pour in the correct fluid or just leave it as is and use the correct fluid on the next service?
@txfromwi I believe you used Castrol DOT4 on your LR4 which is ISO 425 Class 4, any performance issues with that?
What would you do?
Thanks
