Floor console has to be removed.

Remove shifter knob.
Lift up on the shifter bezel (snaps in).
Remove coin tray and vertical cover at rear of console. Remove two screws. Unplug connector.
Remove two screws under HVAC controls.
Remove two screws in open compartment at front of console. Console should lift out.

Thanks for the information. I got all of that loose but I have tried everything to get the front part to release to be able to remove the rest.I don't have to remove the shroud that cover the AC and recirculation button do I ? It looks lime it will clear the shroud but there is another piece that it sits on and feels locked. I removed 2 screws and 2 7 km bolts. UGHHH........Thanks again !

Rover,
Thanks for all of the help!
I took out the purple bolts also....
I had a hell of a time getting that sucker replaced!
I thought I could just take off the top portion and turn it upside down and replace the switch , ended up having to take out the dash that houses the radio display and removing the climate control assy unit , I found 2 bolts at the rear inside of the panel you had to remove that holds whole console close to floor. I was then able to lift the whole console assy from the rear towards the front just enough to lift the front of the console and replace the switch without having to disconnect any wires assy connectors.
I'm sure there must be a easier way but now that I have done it,I could replace the switch in about a half hour tops...lol.
Thanks again for your help Rover Range, if anyone has any questions please feel free to ask.Its not that hard after you've done it..
