@jlglr4 I was told by the shop the alternator was toast. Honestly I didn't think it was based on what I was seeing on the drive. Honestly it's got 100k miles on it and it's relatively cheap anyways. I'll recheck it but if I do the pumps I have to pull the alternator. No way I'm paying someone...
Well I threw in the towel and took the LR to a shop to have it looked at.
They came back with saying it was out of timing at the fuel pumps and vacuum pump.
They quoted me $6000 to do the job which was replace HPFPs, Vacuum pump and to put it back in to "time".
I'm struggling with this...
Very true! Here is a picture of the low pressure sensor side by side the factory one. You can see they look similar but not exactly the same. That’s where I was skeptical.
I did buy it off Amazon too as I wanted it asap in hopes to get my wife’s vehicle on the road sooner. Well that didn’t work...
High Pressure Fuel rail was genuine Bosch
Low pressure fuel rail was no LR but did have the same part number and a FOMOCO symbol but I was skeptical about that one.
I agree with you on this as well. Just was so cheap to do so thought I might as well do it.
This was after letting off the gas... would that make any difference? Not asking for any fuel as it comes down after being revved up?
The three pressures that stay the same are is after it idles out...
Well did some live value stuff this morning and I’m not 100% confident it’s my hpfp because they seem to be doing there job based on what I can see.
I did clear all the engine adaptations and was able to actually clear the engine codes for the first time in 3 weeks. Wasn’t able to go drive...
So this is what I found out. As mentioned I went out opened the door popped the hood check voltage and got 12.26.
The next day with the hood up and almost another 24 hours later I checked the battery and it was 12.64. This confused me so I then went and opened the drivers door which “woke up”...
Headed out soon to have it checked. I’m guessing I’m due up for one. If that some how solved my problems I would be beyond ecstatic but I’m not very hopeful!
Battery checks out good.
Yes 12.6 is a healthier battery for sure but from my minimal mechanical knowledge I was under the impression anything about 12 should be "good" enough to start and run a vehicle. I guess how I take it is that my current issue Im working on I dont think is battery related even though these...
I had posted about this in another thread but thought I should make my own so I don't steal theirs.
I am having issues with fuel pressure at start up. I copy and pasted from the other thread the issues I have dealt with. I would love some advice on what to do next or look in to. I may just...
Its funny you say that because on the Facebook groups I had mentioned this and they all said 15V isn't that bad and probably just running multiple things in the car and it was cold out. When I saw it I was on the same thoughts as you. Checked battery last night after sitting for 24 hours and was...
Its a long story so Ill do my best to keep it short...
Went out one day to start the LR4 and it started as it should idles at 1200 then downshift to about 800rpms and then starts to shutter and stalls out. Start it up again does the same sequence. 1200 rpms shifts down and stalls out. Always on...
Thank you for this write up. I had replaced the fuel sensor on the rail on the RH side of the engine but didn't know about this one. Neither has fixed my issue and I am currently stumped on where to go next as I really don't want to keep throwing parts at the LR. Seems to be a fair amount of...
