    Battery life

This is my routine as well. We have 3 cats but now both work from home, so we’d have dead batteries everywhere if I didn’t tender them.

Prepping for SCV6 120k mi service

@q5sys this is consistent to what I’ve found as well; jag forums have more discussion and P#s

Prepping for SCV6 120k mi service

Just did a re-build <5k ago; that was the only source of oil seepage I saw down there. Are we doing VCGs preventatively? Passenger side was done ~50k ago, but no signs of repeat failure, or driver side leakage.

Prepping for SCV6 120k mi service

@scapistron no signs of the mounts being bad currently. LCAs and bushings were done @ 77k mi., and I haven’t felt and systems of them going out again; just had an alignment (every 5k) and it was still within spec from the last. Tech did say my rear passenger tie rod was seized “inner to outer”...

Has anyone reflashed their 3.0SC V6 aka Tune?

@scapistron the 2300 is only available as an upgrade to the V8 SC at the moment

Prepping for SCV6 120k mi service

Yea, that’s what I’m torn about. If it’s just going to be a 50k mi service item, I’m fine with that. I’m also thinking the o-rings on the metal pipes are not permanent fixes, so they’ll still need servicing at some point; we just don’t know that mileage yet. Maybe they wait until the 170k-ish...

Prepping for SCV6 120k mi service

@Longtrail I’m still up in the air on switching to the upgraded metal parts for everything; I haven’t seen a lot of feedback on here for those that have converted. I probably need to scan the jag forums to get more results and see which brand is more popular (I think there are a few now) Chains...

Prepping for SCV6 120k mi service

Alright folks, looking to gather some intel, thoughts, suggestions about what I’m planning in the 120k mi range. As of now I’m at 112k, but the next time I have everything apart I want to touch as much as needed. I’m thinking of: -crossovers (front & rear), water pump, thermostat, pcv valve-...

Has anyone reflashed their 3.0SC V6 aka Tune?

Has anyone had their supercharger ported? From what I can gather it’s about 30-50 hp gain and 40ish ft/lb. VAP is now offering it, and there are a couple other companies as well (Kong performance, JorkerZ); they seem to be pretty competitive in price with each other. I picked up a used...

Sudden Hissing near Valve Cover (5.0 V8)

Brake pedal click - mine does this as well, and it’s been doing it for as long as I can remember now; no issues. Like you I noticed it one day and now I can’t ‘un-hear’ it. I assumed it always made that noise and I just didn’t notice it…until I did. Doesn’t bother me, and there are plenty of...

Valve Cover Gasket / Front Timing Cover Questions

It absolutely will work; I just did this job on mine and it fixed my leak from the cover. I used the kit from RKXTech and replaced all seals

    AJ126 SCv6 Supercharger Oil

The supercharger is sealed off to the intake, so oil in the manifold is re-liquified PCV vapor. The only place the SC unit can leak is out the back cover, which would be external to the intake.

    AJ126 SCv6 Supercharger Oil

Check this thread: https://www.landroverworld.org/threads/how-to-supercharger-removal-rear-crossover-and-passenger-valve-cover.42135/ Go to page 5-6 and see there are several common amounts others have gotten out of theirs. I think general consensus is put back what you got out

@f1racer328 +1 for the fuelly app. Been using that for multiple vehicles going on almost 10 years now; when I started on android it was called ‘aCar’

Valve Cover Gasket / Front Timing Cover Questions

1- I think it’s the VCG; front passenger side seems to be where most leaks start on these for some reason. I could be wrong but I think the timing cover leaks a little lower than the top usually; mine did at least. 2- price sounds about right, just a lot of labor time to get to it; supercharger...

    Project Dark Knight Rising

Did you take any kind of measurements before to see how out of ‘flat’ it was to begin with? Did you see any obvious signs of of head gasket failure once you got it apart?

    2013 LR4 Vacum Pump

I think at face value that’s correct, but there are transition years/models and folks that replaced the old with updated version that may not follow this rule 1:1. You can tell from up top which one; the v2 has a flat face

    2013 LR4 Vacum Pump

Make sure you get the right kit, mine was a v2; the older style is v1, but double check by looking at it. If I did it all over I’d wait to do it with an oil change; about 1.75 qts came out, but the most annoying part was waiting for it to stop dripping. Drained pan should reduce both, but...

    2013 LR4 Vacum Pump

I just did this last week on my ‘16; I got the seal kit from RKXTech for ~$40 instead of replacing the whole unit. Very satisfied

Difficulties finding steering shaft parts! If you have access to OEM catalogs, help!

The ‘G’ designation is something Rover Parts does to distinguish the same part numbers across different pieces (genuine, OEM, OE); the part on lucky8 is a genuine part also hence the price being higher than an ‘unbranded’ OEM part. If you’re only selling 1 type of part, you don’t need to...

Difficulties finding steering shaft parts! If you have access to OEM catalogs, help!

You are correct. The one without the ‘G’ is an OEM part which means it meets the original manufacturer standards, but the G part is a genuine LR replacement part. Both will be fine, it’s just a matter of do you want to pay $140 more for a LR branded part
