Are all terrains really necessary for even mild offroading?

Unless they’re full of moonshine. Then they get a pass. Which could be a distinct possibility.

Supercharger Oil Service interval (2016 SCV6)

Yep. Mine smelled like cow ****. Now gear oil doesn’t have the nicest of aromas at the best of times but it should not smell like that. Also it was very dark at 65k of city driving.

But they look good. My personal favorite is the high lift hack on the bonnet of a Jeep without so much as a scratch on the factory finish. Lots of that in la. Oh and several rotopax hanging off every inch of available space.

To answer the original question though. No. But when you do get stuck or in trouble with punctures your options are much more limited.

Are all terrains really necessary for even mild offroading?

I’ve a similar experience with MatyF but with 19” on the contis and doing the same trails several times. But I have to say these wore horribly, especially where the tread rounds over to the sidewall. After a few outings there were a few noticeable chunks missing from the treads. Also they are...

    Lower control arm replacements

No poly bushes here, I want the ride as supple as possible, but that’s just my taste. But I’m hoping it’s the same as ryanjl and just the ball joint. I’ll know when I get under the car again. But that’ll have to wait until after a work trip unfortunately.

    Lower control arm replacements

I'll pm you if you want. but there's only so many suspects :) I'm just surprised, maybe I got a bad batch of bushes. anyway it'll give me enough footage to get a video out. on a side note, anyone replaced the upper rears? its really common in the uk, the front lowers not so much. makes me...

    Lower control arm replacements

also be careful with spares, I put a set of lca's in last year and they are already clunking after 11k miles and about 500 off-road. yes, they were installed correctly and no I don't beat the car. just a case of you get what you pay for I think.

Front LCA replacement - ball joint separation

Same. If in doubt just tap in a pickle fork to get some pre load on it and then on the knuckle. They both dropped relatively easily for me. Just make sure you support the drive shafts as they pop out quite easily. If you’re pressing the shafts out of the front hubs invest in an air hammer. It...

2016 LR4 Coolant Crossover, Water Pump, Thermostat Replacement

Yep. I’m pretty sure it’s a bursting disc and is vented to atmosphere. Have a google and it’ll make sense. Either way there was nothing attached :)

    Bleeding coolant woes...... help needed!

Sorry guys been away for a while. Great news on getting everything bled. One thing I want it put out there is that if anyone is in the la area then I have a vacuum bleeder tool and a shop compressor so hit me up if you need to borrow it. stu

    worn brake pads message

I’m 99% sure the front is on the left inner pad as well. The connection to the vehicle is just behind the fender liner.

    Presenting Wrenchin’n Roverin

Hi guys and gals, I finally got my video editing hat on and finished a load of things I’ve been working on. So the premise is to take a standard lr4, do all the required mechanical work to make it a reliable weekend warrior and have a great time with the family. Flip side is that if I need to...

    Cant track down Lug/wheel studs

I’m my experience with similar designed hubs, albeit on a larger scale the hub is machined then the studs are pressed into it to form a mechanical fit. Similar in principle to a friction coupling. This provides for a very “tight” and robust installation without the need for welding etc. the down...

    LR4 Tailgate not opening

I bought this kit, looks OEM enough for me, I'll do an install vid when I get round to putting it in. Delivered in 3 days from Italy, Atlantic British sometimes take longer than that for stuff and I'm in LA https://www.landroverpassion.com/en/product/lrp-upper-tailgate-kit-for-discovery-l319/

    Lifted suspension/calibration issue

As I understand it yes. Mine does the side to side thing parked on the street by my house. When the car is parked at intervals it checks the height and lowers the higher corner/side/end to try and level out.

V8 Coolant Manifold / Crossover & Maintenance Parts List

Rubber pipe against hard plastic is even more of a potential grenade than the crossovers in my book. I had a similar issue with the clips that attach to the underside of the supercharger. but I’ve not worked on a v8 so I’m only postulating.
