    Problem when locking the car.

Ok, so try standing next to each door and the trunk/boot. Do you get the same results each time when locking with the button and key?

    Disable Eco start/stop action permanently

Interesting idea about the hood/bonnet switch. That may be an idea to try. It should be simple to put in a timed relay assuming it’s a simple open closed switch circuit.

    Disable Eco start/stop action permanently

On the later vehicles, velar and new rrs (I’ve first hand experience with only)there’s an option in the instrument cluster to disable the start stop function permanently. It’s as simple as that. Or put it into “dynamic” mode and it disables the start stop as well.

    Disable Eco start/stop action permanently

Yep. It’s really surprising as the later vehicles you can disable the start stop full time. But I look at it like this, I used to put a key in the ignition and turn it to start the engine. Now I press a button then another. It’s become second nature but the “eco” indicator lamp on the instrument...

    Disable Eco start/stop action permanently

So drive it in command shift and all is good. Or low range. But that would be a bit tedious.

    Disable Eco start/stop action permanently

The following conditions will prevent an automatic engine stop: An automatic transmission shift paddle has been used to select a gear. The external temperature is less than approximately 0°C. The external temperature is more than approximately 40°C. The engine has not reached its operating...

    Charging system fault

Mine died due to cooling obstruction by mud. Lasted 2 k after the mud pit I went through. So they’re durable in the California heat at least. I’m taking this as a 75% my fault for not hosing it out

    LR4 Mileage Poll

69k. And that’s with 2k caked in mud that I didn’t realize was there. It cooked in the la heat. Failed with a charging system fault, that cascaded into the battery going out and I found the start stop battery was on the fritz as well. Expensive week.

    Problem when locking the car.

Also. Have you checked the key batteries. When mine were on the way out they would do sone strange stuff like this.

    Charging system fault

I had the same thing. Alternator at idle generating 14.2 v and under load that diminishes to 10.5v so. Get a gap tool, or equivalent , reset the error code and see if it comes back. Also you can check the live voltage reading when you’re driving. This will help diagnose if you have a failing...

    LR4 Rear Hatch Anomaly

If you’re doing the cable install. This is by far the best “kit” I’ve found. I have one sitting in the garage waiting to go in. It’s a bit of a faff to install but worth it I think. https://www.landroverpassion.com/en/product/lrp-upper-tailgate-kit-for-discovery-l319/

    New LR4 Owner - Colorado

Welcome to the community. If you’re planning on doing your own maintenance work then there’s a wealth of information here. Also some of us are putting how to videos together on YouTube. I’ve a few up and I’m working on more as I fix/replace items in my LR4. You’ll love the drive coming from a...

    Transmission Flush opinions

For next time have a look at these and do it yourself. You’ll save quite a bit. Power steering is when I get back to LA. At least you’ve based lined your fluids. So you know how it’s been driven and for how long. Stu.

Power Supply Distribution Box/Gateway Module - Eco Stop/Start - Help Understanding

One thing I noticed when the small battery went on mine was that if you stop the car when it’s in drive the gear selector didn’t return to park and retract. Replace the battery and bingo it works. (Officially Land Rover quirk 78) So it may be that we can gauge the healthiness of our beloved stop...

Supercharger Oil Service interval (2016 SCV6)

Here you go. It’s easier to do when off the car but manageable when mounted. The plug is at the back next to the firewall where the casting drops by an inch or so from the intercooler flange. Sounds complex but you’ll see.

    Lower control arm replacements

I’ve been looking at these bushes as an alternative. Really tempted to try them next time round.

    Lower control arm replacements

Make sure you torque up the nuts for the drop links. And come back to check after a few spirited drives. Mine worked lose in the right hand side.

    Expansion Tank Cap Question

Higher pressure raises the boiling point of the coolant. This enables the operating temperature of the engine to be higher and because of the dark arts of thermodynamics that results in a higher thermal efficiency. Obviously that’s a very boiled down version. Ha. Stu.

    5.0 supercharged into an LR4?

I want to know what happened to the front wing. On the highway at speed from your sc v8 must have been pretty loud ;)

Looking for a 19" off road tire.

Here they are with some desert highlights to emphasize the tread ;) You can see how much of the side wall is used and this is was not aired down at all. The trail was (2N47 - Cleghorn Ridge) for reference

Pre-facelift grille paint job with colored trim

I like it, especially the depth of the white. Makes the grill look more defined. I’d pick this over the std grill especially in white.

New Recall Alert : Fuel System

Same with my 15. But I think I read that the recall hadn’t been posted on the NHTSA website yet. Could/probably am wrong on that. But I smelled gas last week……so it’s serendipitous for me.
