    Another Defender hint?

I liked the new RRS the moment it came out. It's a sharp-looking vehicle. RR's are expensive and always have been. What did people not like? I only visit this sub-forum.

    Well crap!

I plan on doing mine Fall 2021 when my ‘13 will be 8 years and just over 50k miles. I might do the transmission fluid then too.

    Another Defender hint?

The looks are growing on me. And it has nice features. But IMO, it seems a bit complex and also don't care that they sacrificed cargo over rear leg room. And yeah, it's expensive.

    Blinding splash issue

    Exactly!

    Blinding splash issue

That is exactly right. I've had BMW 3'ers and a Mini which have very short front overhangs and are susceptible to this as well. But importantly, those sporty cars have low ground clearance and I approach deeper puddles slowly if they cannot be avoided. The LR4 gives a sense of invincibility that...

LR4 suddenly won't start/crank. Even with fully charged battery and/or jump

That's odd. I replaced my battery preemtively a couple of years ago and reset it with the IIDTOOL. Never had any issues. Good to know in case this happens.

LR4 suddenly won't start/crank. Even with fully charged battery and/or jump

I'm no master mechanic, but if you are getting nothing at all from a battery that is initially showing good voltage, that points to the starter motor as the culprit. This happened on my old Grand Cherokee and the AAA guy even crawled underneath and fed power directly to the starter (I think)...

    Drivers window not working

This is of no help, but my LR4 (which I ordered) has been virtually trouble-free. One of the few things to happen was the driver seat not moving forwards or backwards. Stuck frozen in my wife’s (Short) position less than two years after production. Dealer did not believe me and kept saying...

    Drivers window not working

I'm a mechanical engineer, not an EE, so you got me, but I cannot imagine the switches being different if it is indeed fed to an ECU. Nobody wants to have different part numbers and stock them unless absolutely necessary. You have 4 window switches on the drivers door. Are all 4 not the same? If...

    Drivers window not working

Swap window switches with a known good one from another door and see if the problem follows the switch.

    SYA Spacer/Strap kit

I don't even know what a SYA kit does, but the one that is different is a mirror image of the other three. Knowing nothing, I can only come up with two theories: 1) The sheet metal blank on all are the same (fact) and the supplier simply made a mistake and bent the tabs in the other direction...

    Well crap!

Glad you you will have resolution. Best of luck with the work and the "new" LR4. Thanks for the photos. One doesn't usually get to see that view.

    Your experience about LR4 V8 5.0

There are many discussions on this s search for them, but some of the highlights are: 1) Transmission fluid change should have been done by now 2) Timing chain needs to be monitored in case it needs attention 3) cooling system (cross-over pipe and water pump) are a weak point. 4) Lower control...

    Intake Valve Cleaning

There you go. Evidently I imagined wrong. :-( I didn't know the two intakes converged.

    Intake Valve Cleaning

It has to have two intakes. There are two banks of cylinders and two air filters. I imagine the car would also need one can for each side.

    tires for LR4

I have Terraincontacts and I am quite happy with them but I don't do serious off-roading. I believe most here go to 18" wheels to have more options.

    LR4 vs Defender

I think there is a lot to like about the defender, but the cargo space and smaller 3rd row are a deal breaker while my kids are still small. I saw this video yesterday. eGrDmnP8jPg

    Well crap!

I have a 2013 with 43k miles on which I am considering the preemptive job next Fall, when I expect it will have 8 years and 50k miles. I've read from people here that pipe failures are more prevalent in year-round hot climates. I actually don't recall a "cold-weather" climate failure, but I'm...

    LR4 vs Defender

Yup. But Those are huge elements for me. Especially because the LR4 offers that cargo space in a short overall length. Fortunately I have low miles and hope to keep mine for many more years. I hope that with care it will hold up.

LR4 5.0 Chain Guides actual problem?

That's what I mean. That makes sense.

LR4 5.0 Chain Guides actual problem?

That sounds odd. On a vehicle like an LR4 I'd be surprised if the lubricating system was not designed to handle inclines. Could the oil pump be faulty?

    2015 LR4 CPO Lemon

Is that the case for a used car? In MA, which like CA is very consumer-friendly, the Lemon law covers you on a new car for the first year (number of days out of commission or number of visits for same problem). There is a different law in MA that says if you bought a used car and you found...

    Well crap!

Anytime I read about inflated dealer prices I recall when my sister found the passenger mirror of her Altima busted and hanging. Don't recall the rate (15+ years ago) but I know the dealer quoted 1.5-2 hours for the repair. I fixed it for her with no instructions in 45 minutes. As (bad) luck...
