DIY Oil Change for LR4
I may have mentioned this before somewhere here, but the filter housing design is such that the O-ring is making a radial seal against the housing. Add to that the fact that it is a fine thread, and as long as the gap is gone, you are pretty much good to go. You certainly don't want it to back... -

You need to start by giving the brakes a good brake fluid flush. Very important. In the process, inspect or have the lines inspected. Start there. -

To echo others' points, congrats. That's a life well-lived for any vehicle, especially a LR. It would benefit us all if you could mention the cliff notes of the vehicle's service an repair history, particularly for items like timing chain/tensioner, LCA's, and cooling system-related items. -

Another LR4 Saved from Coolant Death
I'm at 46k miles, so a full cooling system refurbishing is in order this fall. I'll be at around 8 years and 50k miles then. Hopefully no issues until I get around to it then. -
Map missing from Navigation
Yes. Try that. Once, many years ago My LR screen went dead. I restarted and have never had an issue since. On a somewhat related note, all the highway exits in MA are being renamed and the old (2012?) map will become a lot less useful. Has anyone found a way round the ludicrous LR map update... -

Worthy of an update. We are at ~45k miles on our July 2013 production LR4. Knock on wood, no issues at all in the last three years, but also only 15k miles and good maintenance. -
Front Wheel Bearings - Question
Unless they are torqued to yield, or have built-in thread-locker, one should be able to reuse them. As for the torque value, the threads clearly have not changed, so unless the surface area of the built-in washer is smaller, the torque should not have changed. But maybe they have realized they... -
Voyager Rack Ladder Nightmare
Beware of SS. SS is great on its own, but it is at the other end of the galvanic table. The instant the the coated steel is exposed (if it happens), it will corrode incredibly quickly in contact with SS. Of course, ideally what you want is aluminum. -
Low mile year, should I still get annual oil change? (out of warranty)
This year, thanks in part to COVID, I am likely to be at under 4k miles at the 12-month mark. I'm still planning on changing the oil then. -

2012 headlamp lens replacements
I had good luck restoring the pretty beat up lamps in my Miata. Proactively, I bought film protection for the LR4 headlamps and fog lights years ago. They have worked well. I recommend them once you restore the lamps. -
