    Failed emissions - no faults

I ran IID tool yesterday and saw a couple of strange ground faults. One re: an antenna and another (multiple instances) re: the e-brake, which I largely stopped using years ago. I replaced the battery with a new H8 AGM. I got a check engine light and ran the tool again and now it was showing a...

    Failed emissions - no faults

Yeah, but this was way more than that. My son called and i could hear the ringing via the car but nothing showed up on the screen. I hit the button on the wheel and I could hear him talk but he could not hear me. Nothing like that has ever happened. That it happened a day after allegedly the car...

    Failed emissions - no faults

So, coincidentally, the BT phone connection acted up big time just now. I’m thinking that it’s the 5.5-year old battery acting up. I’ll replace that and see.

    Failed emissions - no faults

My wife took a photo and sent it. That’s literally all it says. Drive it more and test again.

    Failed emissions - no faults

Hmmm. I was going by what my wife told me. It seems it says the vehicle is not ready because it recently was reset. I don’t recall doing any work that would have caused that reset. I guess for now I’ll drive it more and try again.

    Failed emissions - no faults

As the title mentions, 2013 LR4 failed Massachusetts inspection for emissions. I figured it would be a bad O2 sensor, but IID Tool shows no faults. Any thoughts?

Coolant Crossover Pipe Repair 5.0 V8

Reading this thread with interest. I've been accumulating parts for my LR4 for over a year now. Finally, this past weekend I did part 1: front discs and rotors as well as hubs and LCA's. PITA to cult off the bolts and the job took a while, but it was quite successful and made much easier with a...

I think I need a new bearing. Do LCA replacements "while I'm in there"?

    Great! Will try that. Thanks!

    Continental terraincontact AT tire wear

At the rate we are going, we will need to replace ours on years and not miles. This is their 4th year and I don't think we've put 15k miles on them. Add the fact that we rotate a 5th full size spare into the rotation and these will have to be swapped out before 30k, worn or not.

I think I need a new bearing. Do LCA replacements "while I'm in there"?

Ah, ok. So this might all just be LCA's then. Thanks! I'll check for that.

I think I need a new bearing. Do LCA replacements "while I'm in there"?

I don't think it's the wheels+tires. I say that because the condition is not persistent. it comes and goes. I'll put it up on the lift today or tomorrow and try to assess the issue a bit better. My understanding from reading this forum for years is that LCA's have to be replaced at 60-80k...

How Much Do You Pay For Insurance?

I think I'm in the $600-700 range per year. Fairly high limits. $1k collision. $500 comprehensive. $100 for glass.

I think I need a new bearing. Do LCA replacements "while I'm in there"?

It's been a while since I've posted here. Our bone-stock, ordered-new, 2013 LR4 has been very good to us and it has been well-taken care of. Sadly, no chances to go off-roading, so it has been pampered. Nevertheless, a few incidents lead me to believe it needs at least one new bearing. It's...

Buying this 2015 LR4 Lux Pkg w/ HD Pkg, but am freaking out about the RUST! Should I walk?

My LR4 has always had minor surface rust issues on the frame. I've mentioned it before, but twice a year when I install and remove winter wheels&tires I will hit the rust spots with black, sprayable rust reformer...

How To - DIY - 2016 LR4 - F/R Crossover Pipes, Water Pump, Thermostat, Coolant, Supercharger Oil, Supercharger Coupling

Thanks for sharing. I've had the parts now for a year, but keep pushing off this work because of other more pressing home projects. Mine is a <50k mile 2013 (V8), but still.

    Spark plugs?

My 2018 BMW M3 requires spark plugs changed every three years no matter what. Mine were changed at ~10k miles. Luckily it was covered under the free maintenance program.

    Selling the LR4

Our LR4 has been on restricted duty for quite some time and we put <5k miles/year, so running costs are low. The plan is still to keep it forever.

    2012 LR4 TPMS fault showing...Plus Amber Triangle...

On a tangentially related note, my LR4 gave me a TPMS warning the other day but I suspected it was due to a battery dying out. These are the used winter wheels I bought in Dec 2013, so who knows how old the batteries are (could be 12 years old). Sure enough, the next time I drove the car, it...

2015 V6 coolant pipes done. Pics of old pipes

Yikes. I was going to do all that cooling system work this fall but ran out of time and was planning on doing it this spring at 8.5 years and ~50k miles. I thought I would be way early. Perhaps not! No signs of leaks, though.

Another Crossover / cooling system job

FYI, just because I know everyone is on the edge of their seat, I've been too busy to get to it and now it's pretty cold, so to avoid having the SUV down for an extended period of time in the winter, I'll wait until Spring to do this job.

    The Great Engine Oil Debate

I'd like your thoughts. My oil change has become a headache. I've been doing yearly oil changes using Mobil1 EP 5W-20 since the care went out of warranty, or 4 years ago. My last change was 14 months and ~3200 miles ago. Anyhow, I usually have a healthy supply of motor oil, but after draining...

Has anyone put Pirelli Scorpion Winter tires on their LR4 ?

I've had Nokian Hakka SUV (2's, I believe) since 2013 and they are awesome. It's unstoppable with these on.

Another Crossover / cooling system job

FYI, all parts arrived in perfect condition from LR Paramus. No mistakes and all brand-new LR OEM. It took them a week to ship them out, but besides that, they were good. I hope to start the job next weekend.
