    Transmission swap

Awesome. This is great to know as I have a lift at home, so if I ever were to consider serious work, I'd be silly not try this.

    Battery life

I didn't pay that. I paid closer to $250, but yeah, not cheap.

    Low coolant. No leak?

Another update: Still no drop in coolant and still dry. It has now been over 2k miles. This is weird, but I'll take it.

    Battery life

I would definitely replace it. As I mentioned I had mine for 5 years with no issues at all, but why take chances? A friend at work recommended I buy this. https://www.batteriesplus.com/productdetails/sli94ragmdp So far (9 months), it has been great.

    Review of Continental TerrainContact A/T

Great feedback. Good to hear. Thanks!

    GAP Diagnostics down?

Well, they got back on line, I was able to use the app to reset my password and log in. And all of a sudden it works perfectly again. I just needed to reset my service interval. Weird.

    GAP Diagnostics down?

I didn't think so either, but I am not logged in and I thought perhaps that was needed for some reason. I can't seem to log in either.

    GAP Diagnostics down?

I cannot seem to get to their website and when I try to use the tool, it connects and gives me live rpm and voltage readings but the screen has an "Initialization" heading with just a list parameters with "Not Loaded" next to them and I cannot click on anything.

Change out differential and transfer case fluids

Thanks for reviving this thread. This fall I'll be at 6 years and ~38k miles. I think I will tackle the diffs & transfer case then.

    Leaking Rear Main Seal

My 997TT never had the RMS leak either. I sold it with ~87k miles. Mezger engine and all.

DIY Grill Light Bracket and Lights

I'd be worried about those sharp 90-deg corners on the black brackets. I see a lot of scratches on people and things in the future.

All the battery posts got me scared ....

I had my factory battery for nearly 5 years before replacing it this past summer (there were mitigating circumstances for the delay). Never had any issues. My car had about 32k miles at the time, but still. I would not recommend waiting that long, but it's not a ticking time bomb at 3 years. I...

    Jack broken

The threads stripping (shearing off) is a fundamental design (sizing) and/or manufacturing (material/process quality) problem that reeks of product liability issues. This needs to be brought up to LRNA with pretty high urgency. It's one thing (itself not trivial) if the design requires a...

    Review of Continental TerrainContact A/T

After 5.5 years and 34.5k miles, I finally replaced the OEM Contis with TerrainContacts A/T. Note that 12.5k of those miles were put on my winter Hakkas, so I only kept the OEM Contis for about 22k miles. As a result of rotating with the full size spare, the OEM Contis could have given me...

    2010 LR4 brake bleed question

That doesn't make sense. It should be one or the other.

    Specialists near Canton, MA/Manchester, NH?

I would agree. If anything, they might be extra picky about what needs attention, which is not a bad thing. BTW, this thread is very helpful to me for future reference as I live and work close to Canton, MA. :-)

    2010 LR4 brake bleed question

I bled my brakes the old fashioned way with the engine off. No problems.

    Jack broken

Wow. I've never used mine. I used my floor jack the first time installed the winter tires and ever since, I've been lucky enough to have a lift. But I was always curious given the weight of the LR4. Glad you are ok. I'd bring it up to LR, personally, if you feel you used it properly and it failed.

    Front diff making metal

That looks like tough bearing to pull. I would not attempt that without a special fixture.

75k mile service - diff and transfer case fluid change

Get out! That can't be right. Did they quote you a transmission fluid change job by accident?

75k mile service - diff and transfer case fluid change

Even though I will likely be at under 40k miles, I am considering doing all fluids and tranny this fall on the 6-year anniversary of my 2013. I'm trying to convince myself that 7 years and ~45k miles is ok so I can wait another year.

$1,200 shipping bill for roof rack.

Not totally related, but I had a terrible experience with Voyager. The shipping for two sliders was over $300 (this is 5 years ago). Then they started to rust almost immediately. They offered to have me ship it back (at my expense) so they can repaint it. As if I was going to pay $600 in...

    Rotor wear advice

My brakes have lasted more than the typical LR4 (22k miles for rear pads, 32k for front pads) and I live in a somewhat hilly area with only 1/3 highway miles. But to me the LR4 is my chill luxury/family car. I've always had and still have other faster, more fun cars to scratch the itch. I always...
