    Push without Starting

I'm a huge stickler of not firing up a cold engine to move a car a few feet, so I tend to push them in/out the garage or within the garage. The LR4 is much harder to move than my Miata though! lol

    Push without Starting

Ah. My bad. I have a 2013 with a shift lever. I'd imagine the manual must provide guidance on how to get your vehicle into neutral. You ought to be able to do it.

    Push without Starting

Yup. Just did it yesterday. Push button without pressing brake pedal. Then press the pedal and shift into neutral.

This is what happens if you don’t listen to your LR4

I'm at 36k now. I wonder if I should consider doing he work this fall along with all the fluids (6 years and probably close to 40k miles).

This is what happens if you don’t listen to your LR4

That sucks. Meanwhile, I had a warning light back in Xmas, found the reservoir near the bottom, topped it off, and have been fine and level ever since with no trace of a leak. These coolant systems are weird.

    2011 LR4 - Parking Brake Won't Engage

I'd start by checking fuses or the switch itself.

    Blown head gasket

Yeah, I took delivery of mine on my oldest son's 6th birthday. He always jokingly calls it his car. I certainly expect to have it long enough for him to drive it. Anyway, he turns 12 at the end of September. Crazy how time flies. I just detailed it last night. I'll take a photo of it soon...

    2011 LR4 - Parking Brake Won't Engage

Do you hear it working but it doesn't engage or nothing happens at all?

    Blown head gasket

I agree. I do love the LR4 for all that it brings, but honestly, a big factor for getting it was that it is the roomiest vehicle of it's type given its length, thanks to it's height and boxiness. My attached garage is very shallow. When parked, there is only about a foot in front of the LR4 and...

Do I wait to do the brakes or?

The first 3 years we owned it we put on 7500 miles per year like clockwork. The last three years have been less (~5.5k, ~4k, and probably 5k this year) because I had a bad foot injury for many months and because we had a leased vehicles with a lot of "free" miles. I suspect we will go back to...

Do I wait to do the brakes or?

Same here. Except when I was an idiot and damaged the front one during the brake service. If the pads look visibly worn, changing them could make it go away. I replaced my rear pads at ~23k miles and the slight noise issues I had went away for good. It has been 3 years and 13k miles and no issues.

    Blown head gasket

That REALLY sucks. I'll start by telling you that I'd really recommend doing the proper thing and replacing he head gasket. yes, it will be a PITA and probably very expensive, but your incident does not sound like it was mild. I can't imagine head gasket sealants will hold up for long ad could...

New OEM Lug Nuts or Gorilla Lug Nuts?

Somehow I just saw this thread. Good to know there are alternatives. One of mine got pretty bad and I had to hammer the socket on to get it out. I bought a new, OEM one and I'm good to go, but that may only be temporary. Reminds me, the socket is still stuck to the old lug not. I need to get it...

Please identify these sounds! LR4 Vibration on Gas pedal and Front End Clicking

I would tend to agree with this. It certainly seems speed (rotational speed)-dependent. But it doesn't seem to make the sound every revolution (hard to tell from video), the the period is consistent. I'd look underneath for a mechanical interference. As for the first video, my mind immediately...

    Gearbox Fault

Let's start with the basics: Do you know the history on transmission fluid services? When was the last time you know for sure that it was done? By most accounts these transmission are pretty solid, but they do need fluid changes and on occasion, they may need to have some bits replaced...

    Maintenance concerns???

I was in Bellagio last year! About exactly one year ago. Didn't see that vehicle though. :-(

    Definitive roof rack thread?

That's nice. If I ever find myself in need of one, I'd probably get that one.

    Rear brake pad sensor replacement

I thought it was the other way around. I thought that the metal disk actually completed the circuit by wearing away the casing protecting the contacts, exposing the contacts and triggering the sensor when the contacts touch the metal rotor. In theory the contact now being recessed means that the...

Are you in the UK? Just guessing based on it having been used as a police car. ;-)

I've started to notice that. Hmmm.

Does Air suspension need to be in Offroad mode for Hoisting jack?

That's weird. I put the LR4 in off-road mode and bring it up with my lift. Tires don't tuck in at all. They all hang down. In fact it's a nuisance because they come in at such a steep positive camber that if I let it down on my Racedeck tile dry, it will unsnap my tiles. I have to put...

    Transmission Slop

I concur. It seems that you have backlash from outside the transmission elsewhere in the drive train.

Every time my LR4 is inspected, the bill...

I always flushed my other cars every 2 years. That was (is?) BMW's recommendation. I believe it was 3 years for LR. I could probably wait another year based on how little I drove it in past two years. I live in the Boston area, so it's humid in the summer but dry in the winter.
