That's where I got all my accessories, including the OEM rubber floor mat and cargo liner. I like them. I've used them year-round for 6 years with no complaints. -

The biggest issue is that AWD offers a tremendous improvement in traction with your foot on the gas, but when slowing down you have zero-wheel drive. All that matters is your tires. -

The stock Conti's are horrific in the snow. Even new (but broken in) they are just awful. Got Hakkas and have loved them for 6 winters now. This is the 7th winter and they still rock. All my cars have winter tires (including my Miata). -

I would agree, except it doesn't how the current gear and it (usually) downshifts for you the instant you go to S. In other cars, it just shows and holds the current gear. That is appropriate. They will also hold the current gear to near redline. That's not how the LR4 does it. -

Correct. I find the default programming to be adequately lazy and chill. But the rpms basically live at 2,000 rpm or less. The sport setting holds gears longer allowing you to more easily access more of the power. My beef is that it's a little on the neurotic side. I don't need the LR4 to go... -

That's a big component as well. Floating calipers are nothing to show off about. I have briefly considered powder coating the calipers just so they don't look like they are baked on with brake dust, which they are. But if I were to do it, I'd probably go with black, to keep it subdued. But... -

The key thing is heat resistance. I would personally not bother unless I were willing to fully remove the brake calipers, disassemble and mask them, prep them, and have them powder coated. That said, I'm sure there are high-heat paints that can be used, but I would be cautious about... -

Just to close the loop... I had to virtually beat the guy over the head but eventually got what I asked for the front diff: the same fill and drain plugs as the rear e-locking diff. As I suspected, I was correct. See image below. I knew the fill plugs were the same, but I can confirm the drain... -

Exactly. LOL After the warranty expired, I moved to Mobil1 EP 5W-20. I will be getting my 2nd oil report soon. Also, I keep my oil in 5-gallon blue (kerosene) container and I empty it at Advanced Auto parts when it gets full. That happens less then once a year and I have 3 cars and help other... -

Agreed. Brakes and fluid changes are the easiest way to save money on your vehicle and huge money makers for mechanics and dealers. That said, I know many people who would be best served not touching their cars at all!
