    Heated Steering Wheel Not Working

I'm not going to offer specifics here, but have you actually looked inside anything or measured anything or are you going simply by why you see light up? If not, I'd start with the fundamentals and: - check the fuse - pull the switch and check how much voltage it is getting - check switch for...

    LR 4 Retired

I am fortunate enough to have a desirable 2013 (LUX/HD/decent color) and have low miles and take very good care of it. I've said it before but to the point of there being new people on this board, I got it for a few different reasons, but a major one was the amount of cargo space and usable 3rd...

    Winter is here. Floor Mats?

My tan carpets were used for a bout two weeks. They are put away and look new. Also went with OEM black.

    Winter is here. Floor Mats?

Agreed. The fronts work well for me, the rears not so great.

    Winter is here. Floor Mats?

That's where I got all my accessories, including the OEM rubber floor mat and cargo liner. I like them. I've used them year-round for 6 years with no complaints.

Skidding to a stop on snow and ice

The biggest issue is that AWD offers a tremendous improvement in traction with your foot on the gas, but when slowing down you have zero-wheel drive. All that matters is your tires.

Skidding to a stop on snow and ice

The stock Conti's are horrific in the snow. Even new (but broken in) they are just awful. Got Hakkas and have loved them for 6 winters now. This is the 7th winter and they still rock. All my cars have winter tires (including my Miata).

Change out differential and transfer case fluids

You can google this but there is an electric motor on/next to the diff. But to have it your vehicle would have had to have been optioned with the HD package (which also came with a full-size spare).

Change out differential and transfer case fluids

Rear locking diff uses different fluid. At least that is what AB sold and I confirmed it with manuals. Transfer case fluid: Rear e-locking diff fluid:

2015 LR4 HSE Windshield Wiper (Front + Back)

I used Bosch blades and rainx fluid. Never have any issues.

Has anyone here supercharged or turbocharged their LR4?

I would agree, except it doesn't how the current gear and it (usually) downshifts for you the instant you go to S. In other cars, it just shows and holds the current gear. That is appropriate. They will also hold the current gear to near redline. That's not how the LR4 does it.

    Share your most expensive repairs

This timing chain issue is starting to remind me of the timing chain guide issue on the R56 Mini Cooper. There eventually was a class action suit on that. EDIT: Never mind, there already is one. https://www.kgglaw.com/class-action/land-rover-and-jaguar-timing-chain-defect-class-action/

    Junkyard tomorrow. Need tips

Most of the stuff I can think off are potentially wear items, so I don't think a used one will be much help, but perhaps others can chime in.

Has anyone here supercharged or turbocharged their LR4?

That's too bad. I'm at the point where I might as well wait until my boys are old enough to join me for AutoX. I have a used Miata I bought when I sold the Turbo that I use as a convertible/winter beater (have snow tires on it). I hope to one day turn it into a track car. It's slow but fun as...

Has anyone here supercharged or turbocharged their LR4?

Nice. Good taste. This my former car I sold a couple of years ago. ;-) Here is my current one since the kids outgrew the rear seats on the 997TT.

Has anyone here supercharged or turbocharged their LR4?

Correct. I find the default programming to be adequately lazy and chill. But the rpms basically live at 2,000 rpm or less. The sport setting holds gears longer allowing you to more easily access more of the power. My beef is that it's a little on the neurotic side. I don't need the LR4 to go...

    Want to paint my brakes

That's a big component as well. Floating calipers are nothing to show off about. I have briefly considered powder coating the calipers just so they don't look like they are baked on with brake dust, which they are. But if I were to do it, I'd probably go with black, to keep it subdued. But...

    Want to paint my brakes

The key thing is heat resistance. I would personally not bother unless I were willing to fully remove the brake calipers, disassemble and mask them, prep them, and have them powder coated. That said, I'm sure there are high-heat paints that can be used, but I would be cautious about...

Has anyone here supercharged or turbocharged their LR4?

Sounds to me like the kind of person I would not want to interact with or who clearly knows so little about the subject, I would not bother to discuss it with them. If someone starts boasting about how much better their Toyota FRS is because of how much it tows and wants me to say it's better...

Has anyone here supercharged or turbocharged their LR4?

I've said this before, but I think the LR4 (V8) has plenty of power. If you got this car to go fast, you got the wrong car. This is my relaxed family cruiser. On sport mode (which is too aggressive, IMO) the LR4 can move surprisingly quickly. It accelerates smoothly and effortlessly in a...

Potential LR4 Owner - Accident History

Change out differential and transfer case fluids

Just to close the loop... I had to virtually beat the guy over the head but eventually got what I asked for the front diff: the same fill and drain plugs as the rear e-locking diff. As I suspected, I was correct. See image below. I knew the fill plugs were the same, but I can confirm the drain...

    LR4 Brakes and Rotors

Exactly. LOL After the warranty expired, I moved to Mobil1 EP 5W-20. I will be getting my 2nd oil report soon. Also, I keep my oil in 5-gallon blue (kerosene) container and I empty it at Advanced Auto parts when it gets full. That happens less then once a year and I have 3 cars and help other...

    LR4 Brakes and Rotors

Agreed. Brakes and fluid changes are the easiest way to save money on your vehicle and huge money makers for mechanics and dealers. That said, I know many people who would be best served not touching their cars at all!
