    Onboard Spare parts when off-roading/overlanding

FWIW, mine has been setup this way, with the addition of four additional connectors when I added the SYA spacers for a minimum of 6 years. I have never had an issue with any of the additional connectors. Literally, zero. Just had my first air system related issue in a decade of ownership, and...

    Onboard Spare parts when off-roading/overlanding

The way mine is set up was to literally just add extra hose length in the run from the front/rear valve block to each air strut with the extra length pulled to an easily accessible location. Under the grille in front and in the cutout above the rear recovery point out back. This allows you to...

    Onboard Spare parts when off-roading/overlanding

Even better, build like the actual GOE kit. Add extra air line to each corner and run a loop of the extra through to somewhere easily accesible. Mine are stubbed out above the trailer hitch in rear, and tucked just behind my grille in front. Put the union connector in those spots that are...

Need Some Quick Info On Valve Block Replacement

Did mine today. Had center valve block and compressor removed at same time. Rover did not change height.

Need Some Quick Info On Valve Block Replacement

I can probably tell you later tonight. I did the rear valve block first. If memory serves, the front and rear blocks will keep the suspension inflated when changing the compressor/compressor block, but it has been a while.

Need Some Quick Info On Valve Block Replacement

One time as in you can push to connect the air line only when making the initial connection. You can absolutely remove them by putting a 12mm wrench on the brass fittings and removing the brass fitting from the valve block. At that point, the ferrule and fitting is on the air line and to...

Need Some Quick Info On Valve Block Replacement

Swapped the rear valve block last evening and can confirm for posterity that the fittings are one time push to connect once you pull the little white plugs. They made the replacement super simple.

    Quick Compressor Replacement Question

New air struts going on next. It has 100K, so I'm just freshening up the air bits in general.

Exactly what I did when changing one previously. Just saw these new white things and started thinking.

Need Some Quick Info On Valve Block Replacement

Found the one I saw. Take a look at 5.04 in this video from Arnott.

Need Some Quick Info On Valve Block Replacement

And that is what I thought I remembered doing before. I recall a bag or package of the ferrules that slip over the air lines and then the brass connector tightens into the block. That memory was complicated by me thinking I saw a video somewhere of a fellow just popping the white spacers out...

Need Some Quick Info On Valve Block Replacement

Replacing a valve block and wondering how to properly connect air lines to a factory new one with these white inserts. Do these pull out and air line push in without removing the brass fitting, or do I need to remove the brass nuts, fit them over the air lines and reconnect. I have swapped a...

    DC to DC charger install

Can someone explain the benefit of doing this versus charging the auxiliary battery through my Traxide isolator? Feel free to treat me like I'm 3 years old.... Does it resolve the partial charging of the aux battery due to the "smart" charging on the vehicle? Could you keep a manual isolator...

    LR4 "Smart" Charging Charging Strategy

My complaint is not with Traxide, that kit works fine. It's the "smart" charging strategy of the LR4 that causes the issue. But yes, I also have an onboard NOCO charger with plug mounted in the bumper. When truck is not driven it is generally plugged in to charge/maintain.

    Quick Compressor Replacement Question

I believe my 2012 was an April build date, and I'm certain the compressor has never been replaced as I have owned it since new. The GAP Tool tells me I have AMK, so hopefully it is correct.

    Quick Compressor Replacement Question

Will do. I just ordered the AMK and valve blocks, so we will will see. Mine might not be completely appicable if yours is stock, though, as IIRC the TR slider included its own compressor mounting bracket.

    Quick Compressor Replacement Question

Thanks for the info. I'm just going to replace everything, rather than worry about rebuilding components. After hearing all the negatives regarding air suspension over the years, I'm completely satisfied with 10 years of trouble-free service. It just seems more prudent to replace the...

    Quick Compressor Replacement Question

So after 10ish years, 100K miles, and a ton of mods to the system, I am starting to get my first suspension faults when it is cold outside, so I think I am just going to replace the compressor and valve blocks in hopes of getting another decade of solid service from them. Having not done this...

Crazy to add Tactical Rear bumper at 104k?

Jesus Christ. The site is editing out B U N G now. Lulz. Hope it goes easy for you. As I said, mine was years ago. I think I was one of the first 3 or 4 people in the USA to get one of these tanks to work, so there might very well be differences now. I posted a thread back then titled So...

    Higher output alternator?

I have wondered about adding a resistor to the BMS sensor so that a constant voltage is presented to the ecm, and thus fool it into always providing whatever charging voltage we want.

Crazy to add Tactical Rear bumper at 104k?

It's been years, since I did mine, but IIRC, it wasn't so much a size difference, as it was having to weld an additional **** onto the supplied filler neck. It will be obvious once you start the install, as you need to place to park each of the factory connections, as well as the connections to...

    Higher output alternator?

You will get an error light if you pull the BMS sensor. Tried several ways to work around that, and was never successful.

Back in Action! Seized Engine Replaced

Have ya'll heard a bad timing chain in person? I would not describe it as "diesel", but more of a rythmic "thunk, thunk, thunk,". Now that I have heard one, I would not mistake any other sound for it. My LR tech had me come listen to a RRS that he was about to tear into to replace them. He...
