Is an LR4 Body Lift Possible?

Yep, that orangeish/red one is what I remember. Aren't the LR4 and the RR Sport the same chassis? Hmmm.

    Mechatronic Replacement

I had my mechatronic out to replace the bridge seals located above it. No need to remove crossmember unless you want to go back with factory pan/filter. you will need a very small ratcheting torx bit holder to get to some of the pan bolts, but I absolutely did not have to drop the crossmember.

Is an LR4 Body Lift Possible?

Anything is possible if enough money is thrown at it. There were pictures of, I believe, a Range Rover Sport out of Nevada that had one done and was running something like 37" tires. Can't recall if it was on here or on ExpoPortal. I like the idea. Raise the body and run whatever tire, and...

Has anyone run the Rubicon Trail in an LR3 or LR4?

Can't really comment on the aluminum, as I have never used them. I am completely happy with the HD version of the fiberglass I got. They go everywhere the Rover goes.

Has anyone run the Rubicon Trail in an LR3 or LR4?

I get where you are coming from. The reality is all vehicles are a sum of compromises. The built Wrangler that will run the Rubicon without assistance, is by comparison, not something I'm going to want to log 1,500 highway miles in to get there. I absolutely agree with you on the bypasses...

Has anyone run the Rubicon Trail in an LR3 or LR4?

I agree. Every vehicle has a different set of challenges. Our challenges are height and tire size. You make it, you made it. I would for damn sure be putting one of those Jeep trail badges on mine afterwards. I do worry that some of ya'll might not be willing to break and bend as much as...

Has anyone run the Rubicon Trail in an LR3 or LR4?

You want something like this. Not the flimsy trax things that seem to be in vogue. They also make a great deck surface for a roof rack. https://www.okoffroad.com/stuff-waffleboards.htm

Has anyone run the Rubicon Trail in an LR3 or LR4?

If any of you guys agree to run it in a group, post it up. I would make it if at all possible (25 hour drive to get there), as it is a bucket list trail. I have never towed my Rover anywhere but would probably load it up on the gooseneck and tow it up there with the F350 due to the damage...

LR4 to Defender direct comparison questions

My wife just bought a Defender 130, so I have been combing through the thing to compare it to my beloved and very highly modded LR4. The Defender is a nice combination of plush and utilitarian on the inside, but some aspects of it are just plain weird. For instance, why in 2023 the rear seats...

Has anyone run the Rubicon Trail in an LR3 or LR4?

I'm usually the guy that says "**** it, Send it", but I think I would have some serious trepidation running that trail in the 4 even with 35s. I bet it would be a whole lot more fun in my Can-Am Maverick x3. 32 inch tires, 16-17 inches of ground clearance, 22 inches of suspension travel, 220 HP...

At Long Last... Modern head unit!

That actually doesn't look bad for less than $300.00. Anyone here have one up and running?

    Adding Upgrades to My 2012 LR4 -

I suggest you run 4 loops of airline. 2 for front and 2 for back. From the associated air block fitting to the applicable strut. Pull the loop through to somewhere that will be easily accessible. I have my fronts coming from under the grille near my winch, and the rears through the cutout in...

    Adding Upgrades to My 2012 LR4 -

My take on what is NEEDED, YMMV: Fundamentally on these rigs if you are going to actually push them, you MUST protect the undercarriage. They are height limited by nature, and the strategy for some obstacles is quite simply to get a front tire on it and then drag the truck down the remainder...

LR4 - Is there an equivalent in ride/driving experience?

Swing and a miss. Need the second row center seat to be isolated like in the 3/4 so my fridge can go there, and needs to fold completely flat. LR4 is looking damn near irreplaceable as time goes by.

LR4 - Is there an equivalent in ride/driving experience?

If I were currently in the market, I would be looking hard at a Gladiator. Are they LR refined, no. But, you can now get leather, heated seats, a decent stereo, etc. You could put a topper and still sleep in it and relatively easily run 37" tires. Solid axles and big tires cover a lot of...

LR4 - Is there an equivalent in ride/driving experience?

That is an oft overlooked quality of the LR3/4. I put the vents in the rear windows and I'm done, while my buddies fumble around with tents and pegs. With a exped megamat, I sleep darn near as good as at home. Hella lot better than a tent in a thunder/wind storm as well.

Compomotive 18” Wheel; Quality Control Issue

Mine are gouged to hell from dragging them through boulder fields, but they were pristine when they came out of the box and thus far show no signs of that. Mine are lucky if they get washed once a year, though.

LR4 - Is there an equivalent in ride/driving experience?

I believe it is the IBF. Nice rigid body structure literally plopped on top of a legitimate truck chassis. "Built like a tank" is a cliche term, but it is applicable in this case. I doubt you will ever see another vehicle mass produced with this structure.

    2012 versus 2015 LR4

2012 at minimum gets you V8, a transfer case, none of the stop/start ********, more power, and none of the complexity associated with a supercharger.

Think about Added a 2nd battery

Get both??? What do you guys run off of a portable aux box? I assume you take it out to camp and then plug back into vehicle to recharge the aux box? Are you loading/unloading a fridge when you camp? I'm curious as that setup has never crossed my mind. Most everything I run is permanently...

    Headliner Cloth Coming Loose

I'll ask where my my Indy guy gets it done. I have seen a finished product in his shop awaiting install and it looked good. Alternatively, I use Trendsetter Upholstery on the far west side in Katy for upholstery work. They do very good work. Been going there for more than a decade. I am...

Think about Added a 2nd battery

There are different schools of thought on this. Traxide, is the Australian resource that is being referenced, and they have a spiffy new website. https://traxide.com.au/ I run 2 Optima Yellow tops connected by a Traxide USI-160 isolator with a permanent solar panel mounted on the hood. A...

    Headliner Cloth Coming Loose

Also in Houston. Same problem just started on my 2012 within the last year. I know some others in the area have removed the headliner and had it recovered. I think that is the only viable long-term solution. I have heard of people having some success using a clothes steamer to re-activate...
