    Exhaust opinion?

I have probably spent 3 hours of my life laying under the thing trying to figure out something to do with those pipes. Short of a super-custom, one off design that takes them out through the sliders in front of the rear wheels, I don't think a solution exists. I sleep peacefully now by...

    Exhaust opinion?

The only exhaust mod that would interest me is if someone figured a way to get the pipes out from under the rear suspension. If it's yours and you like it, more power to ya...:)

    2012 LR4 - Ticking saga...

Interesting point. I had thought you could do the accessory drive chain at the same time as the cam chains. You work in a Rover store or as an indie?

    Purchasing Pre-Owned LR4: 2015 vs. 2016

Slightly off topic, but was a official or semi-official reason for the change to the S/C 6 cylinder ever given? I would assume it had to have related to LR's CAFE calculation or similar since it is literally the same block with two plugged cylinders and a S/C bolted on top. On it's face, it...

How many miles on your LR4?

After researching, I got the orange ones from L8. Supposedly they are the closest to the factory. I have had them a bit less than a year and have no complaints. I will admit I am not overly sensitive to ride issues, but I honestly can't tell a difference from the previous 2 sets of factory...

How many miles on your LR4?

LR4 ARB Rear Locker is possible!

I have lockers at both ends, and I have been lusting after those HD CV joints from L8. $5K is a bit of a tough pill to swallow, especially right now, though.

Why is the "most capable 4x4" so fragile ?

I know I've mentioned it before, but it was kind of funny right after Harvey blew out. It was myself and a couple of Jeep Wranglers just out wandering around suburbia getting a look at the carnage. We would wave each time we passed each other. Very interesting to see the flooded out cars. In...

Why is the "most capable 4x4" so fragile ?

275/70r18s and the suspension jacked all the way up. Along with me hanging out the driver's window making sure I keep the bow wave below the air intake. Somewhere on this site I have posted a picture of a tape measure against the bottom of my air intake after somebody tried to call b******* on...

Why is the "most capable 4x4" so fragile ?

I would add at least 2 feet of designed in water fording. My "off road" edition Nissan truck has the diff vents like 10 inches off the pavement. My LR4 has done 39 or so inches of water on multiple occasions with nary a whimper. Some of the fun you can have in a hurricane in Houston.

what’s the fastest you’ve gone in your LR4

The Rover is for going as slowly as necessary to get to where I want to go. I have other tools in the toolbox to haul @ss with. The 911TT in my sig line has the Champion Motorsports 68mm turbo conversion with both a street and race gas tune. It may, or may not have seen the northern side of...

Why is the "most capable 4x4" so fragile ?

Interesting couple of posts on the poly bushes. I have had mine in for probably 8 months, and specifically went with the hardness supposed to most closely resemble oem bushes. So far, I have absolutely no issues. No discernible difference in ride to me, and no sqeaks. Time will tell, of...

Ford 7.3L would be ideal if it functions as Ford intended. Big, torquey ultra-reliable brick of a truck engine, complete with push rods.

    Parasitic Draw

I like your toggle switch idea. I have a NOCO charger under the hood and a male plug mounted in the bumper to power it. I just ran the output to the aux battery though based on Traxides assertion that when one battery is charged both will lb charged automatically.

Why is the "most capable 4x4" so fragile ?

I would guess that the engineers specced a soft, but less durable compound to reduce NVH in order to keep Suzy soccer mom happier. Replace with poly bushings and forget about them for a good long while.

    Parasitic Draw

Played with it a bit. Checked all engine compartment fuses with the hood latched engaged and got 0.0 on all fuses in that block, so that part looks good. I did find my solar charge controller that is mounted under the hood was responsible for about half of my measured amp. With that...

    5.0 supercharged into an LR4?

I would definitely be one of those in the market for a GM swap if/when my chains go. A 450hp/450tq NA motor that is reliable, any Billy Bob can work on and parts can be had for at the local Napa would make it worth it to me. I suspect (but don't know) that physically fitting an LS wouldn't be...

    2012 LR4 Slow suspension leak...?

Two double-ended quick couplers that are sized appropriately (I think it is 6mm) a few feet of tubing and a sharp knife is all you need. Green Oval Experience in AUS used to sell one, but I am sure you can source the couplers from somewhere domestically, as well. Shouldn't be more than a few...

    2012 LR4 Slow suspension leak...?

On a related note, has anyone found a good source for the "voss" connectors that screw the air lines into the blocks and struts? Dealer charges on those is nuts for what they are, so I am scouting around for another supplier.
