2016 cost for replacement engine SCV6

That is exactly the thought I had. All of the other parts from a kit should work, I would think. Just need the fender box mirror imaged.

2016 cost for replacement engine SCV6

I have only ever seen one guy go down the rabbit hole of trying to get it to work via rerouting the driver's side inlet to be in parallel with the passenger side with snorkel. It sort of worked, but he kept getting a CEL. Can't recall the specific code as this was years ago. From what I...

Rattle noise at passenger rear - outside the car

Wasn't me on Tuesday, I was there a week or so ago. Probably the same loaner though. Good to know they will use customer provided parts. I didn't even consider that since it was a dealer. Just paid my $2G and took my lumps since I was going home and my wife and daughters were staying to hang...

In need of the most random part ever. Any ideas?

Powder coating or some other sort of baked finish might provide a more durable and consistent end result than spray painting. In my area, powder coating is pretty reasonably priced.

Rattle noise at passenger rear - outside the car

I got a loaner Discovery Sport while my Range Rover was in the shop. I couldn't agree more. Drove exactly like an airport rental Kia. Nobody coming out of an LR3/4 is gonna like those things in the slightest.

Rattle noise at passenger rear - outside the car

@PaulLR3 Just a note to say thanks for the recommendation. Ended up taking the Rangie we bought to keep on the Cape to see Brandon. Needed front LCA's and a flush of the t-case to deal with a little growl. As any dealer, they weren't cheap, but I spoke with him for a few minutes and he kind...

    Reverse Light Wiring Question

Possibly, haven't looked though. But that would require the truck to be on, as well as having the IIDTool hooked up. I'm looking to use the reverse lights as work lights when needed. For setting up camp, hitching a trailer, grilling a steak, etc. Don't want to have to start the truck, just...

    Reverse Light Wiring Question

Been thinking of @Michael Gain suggestion, and might be overthinking this, but wanted to check. If I simply popped an "add a fuse" into the fuse 12 slot and then wired the pigtail of the "add a fuse" to switched 12V, that should accomplish what I am trying to do, correct? Reverse lights would...

    Reverse Light Wiring Question

I think that should do it, as long as I can find the wire coming out of the CJB. I'm thinking marine type on/off/on switch. One input to switch from Green/Red wire, one input to switch from constant +12V source, both outputs of switch tied to Green/Red wire. Should give me 1 switch position...

    LR4 Tailgate not opening

It is a bicycle brake or shift cable. Can't remember which. Procured at a local bike store along with some "cable cappers" to provide a finished end after cutting the cable to length. Almost 2 years on, and that mod still works perfectly btw.

    Reverse Light Wiring Question

I have thought about that, but not real sure there is room between the TR steel bumper I have, and the factory inner metal bumper underneath. Anybody have a wiring schematic that shows location of reverse light switch and/or wire color for reverse light +12V?

    Reverse Light Wiring Question

Has anyone figured out a way to add a switch to their reverse lights to activate them whenever desired, but still retain the stock functionality of switching on when shifting into reverse? I have been looking around to add some work lights to my rig, but placing them on the roof rack means they...

Old Defender or keep upgrading LR4

The correct answer is always to get both. That said, if you can only have 1, I would keep the LR4. Can it do everything a built Defender can do? No. Can it be made to do 90% or better of what a Defender can do? Yes. And it will do it while offering a more comfortable experience in every...

    2013 LR4 HSE LUX - Camera Unavailable

Correct. I verified this when I installed my TR rear bumper. I was planning on ditching the wiring harness for the parking sensors, but ended up need to retain it so the camera would function. IIRC, even after disabling the parking sensors via the IIDTool, the sensors still needed to be in...

    2013 LR4 HSE LUX - Camera Unavailable

Check for damage to parking sensor wiring harness. The camera requires the parking sensor wiring to be intact to function.

    Front skid plate options?

If the L8's are steel, the price increase makes sense. Steel has increased in price roughly 20% over the last few months.

    LR 4 model years

I have heard that as well. However, as a counterpoint, you can still find examples of the 2013 5.0 and the newer V6 guys needing to replace chains/tensioners as well. You pays your money, and you take your chances. I would tell anyone considering one of these vehicles that if needing to swap...

    Shaking brakes

Where I grew up we called this "turning" the rotors. If you have an O'reilly's near you, most stores still offer this service for about $12.00 per rotor.

Similar to above, I will buy at least one of the rear door panels from you and pay you to ship it. Those derned things are hard to find.

Front passenger axle threads stripped by axle nut...looking for advice

L8 sells a heavy duty set for about $4Kish...:) I'm dying for somebody to get them and give a review. I want them, but $4K, sheesh. I don't remember who posted it, but there was a fairly detailed thread on replacing the front shafts on here. IIRC, the poster devised a sort of slide hammer...
