Help to buy LR3 or RR Sport

The 4.0L is the Ford Explorer V6. Timing chain issues too but vey common and cheap. Also a horrible engine. 4.4 all the way

Is it? End of the line model, top trim level with the rare HD package and low miles.

2012 - Decreased power on incline

That is exactly the behavior I was getting with the shorted fan wiring. No power. It was very weird.

    Highest mileage LR4?

owner seems fishy. Bought in 2022 and added a whopping 300 miles before flipping. Can't find the timing chain tensioner receipts or can't remember. He's only owned it for just over a year lol.

    pizza cutters...General Grabber ATx

I guess it depends on the tire and how robust the sidewall is, wise choice without bead locks. In the video dropping to 20psi didn't increase tread contact patch much. When people say off-road I automatically default to a scenario where you are in 4 Lo not driving around off the pavement...

2012 - Decreased power on incline

This reminded me of something. About 8 years back my LR4 on the highway suddenly had no power. If I shut it off and restarted it would be OK for awhile but then it would return. It didn't make any sense. My indy found the engine fan wiring "broken" and repaired. All good after that.

    Help! Its Smoking!

I can't see where a large volume of oil would hide in the intake. A few spoonfuls sure but quarts? The oil would pool on the back side of the intake valves immediately I would think.

    Help! Its Smoking!

I guess we now know that the intake can hold 6 quarts.

So they drained the oil and never replenished or they failed to top up? How much did you drive like this?

    Help! Its Smoking!

I guess but I have a question: Where did the 6 quarts go? Go pour 6 quarts of oil on the floor, that is a **** ton of oil.

    Highest mileage LR4?

No name brand dealer is going to sell 192k mile used Land Rovers, just too much risk of blowback. Off to either an affiliated corner lot dealer or the auction. Glad the auction worked for you.. My assumption on anything running through an auction is that there are problems.

You are running a deep cycle as your primary or your 2nd battery is a deep cycle with a "regular" as the primary?

Swapping is not too bad but there is one hidden bolt that will have you swearing. The LR3 is on comp #3 while LR4 is still on the original.

    Battery Draw

I guess it's the way the world is going. My parts places are old school type places with some equipment, I think one of them still turns rotors. What one can do is hook a multimeter and if it has memory (lowest voltage) even better. Have someone crank the vehicle while monitoring voltage. If...
