The V8 LR4s are now at least 10 years old. As a daily driver you are asking a lot from them. As a niche second/third/fourth play vehicle they are supreme.
I know you had to get an engine soon after buying.
What is the mileage?
It is 11 years old and a complex 4x4 vehicle. Outside of the engine the other stuff is just consumables expected on an 11 year old vehicle?
Something not right. In Canaada our headlights at full power are the DRL option so the bi xenons are on constantly. I replaced my 2010 bulbs in 2016 as a precaution but have never had one burn out otherwise.
Mine got a little skewed because I included the extra set of winter tires and wheels (used from a 2006 Range Rover). Also windshields here are a maintenance item it seems.
Bought my 2010 LR4 10 years ago with 70k kms on it. Now at 205k kms and still feels good. It has cost me $0.106 per km to keep it tip top. That is everything: tires, wipers, windshields etc. This is more than most vehicles but it is a special ride,
Less is more. You don't electricity to go camping as a good cooler will hold ice for 5 days. I camp off my dirt bike and have everything I need to be comfortable with a total weight around 22lbs including the bag that carries it. Takes 5 mins to pack and 10 mins to break camp. Try to keep it...
Unsprung weight is a real killer to ride and handling. That poor stock shock assembly is trying to control the heavier wheel/tire combo. The best solution would be proper shock valving for the increased unsprung weight but that would be $$$$$$.
Thanks for following up. Strange they went to the trouble of putting a sticker on since you can dispaly MPH on the digital readout on canadian spec gauges. I would much prefer that to digging around in the instrument cluster.
