    Yeah premiers are great (perhaps best for onroad) but wear like a sponge. Not sure if Defender LTX M/S is available in your size. If so these have 90% of the ride of the Premiers and 3 times+ the wear.

    Sounds about right. The X5 is pretty beefy itself. Keep that rear clearance in mind when the tire shop starts using stick on weights or use rim hammer ons.

    You really want 17's over 18's I guess. With OE equipment my LR3 does not brake as well as my LR4 and that is with the larger V8 components. Perhaps you can make that up by upgrading the calipers, pads, brake lines, and rotors but I would think at that point you could have a real nice set of...

We are at the point of the LR4 timeline where parts will be heavily scavenged to keep runners on the road.     Wasn't my experience either. They simply didn't have the bite, feel or power of a more "traditional" ie. messy pad. I run akebono ceramic on my ridgeline but the brakes suck on that rig anyhow.

    There is a VIN split on the 2010s for the fronts too. I never fully determined the difference although I think the original had too much pad material and they dialed it back a mm or so.

    Shimmy on braking can also be LCAs and to lesser extent tie rods (inner or outer). Fun times.
