    change of 4.4 l on my LR3 to 5 L or 3L

We recently bought another 08 LR3 from a luxury dealership and I had a chance to chat with their LR tech, who they stole fair and square from a dealership, and he relayed his opinions on the whole engine thing. He really likes the 4.4, has great faith in it, it's about as bulletproof as an...

    Block heater

Are you looking for an electric block heater of some kind? The easiest one is the heating mats you glue to the oil pan. We bought a Mzl328 that came from Fairbanks-it had block heaters, transmission heaters and a battery blanket.

Will our LR4's be desirable in 10 - 15 years, or are they just another modern day LR?

I have actually given up my search for a decent D2, the values of the good ones have started to rise above cheap project. On the other hand, LR4's are getting into cheap, sub 10k range. I'm thinking that it is the time to shop for your LR4 right now , we've seen this movie, think RR Classic...

Jump start short + puff of smoke = charging sys. fault

That is absolutely untrue. You can have bad diodes that will give you full charging voltage but not charging current, it has happened to me, not on a Rover but has been a thing. I'd take it to a store with testing capabilities and find out for sure.

Has anyone done a head gasket?

Google and DDG keep filling my teacup with a Disco 4.0 or 4.6 waterfall, seems hard to find info on this repair-anyways, there is a LR4 available localish for $10K, needs (so the seller says) a head gasket. I am sure this is a wicked bill if you paid a dealer or shop to do it, has anyone here...

Steering wheel shaking after rotor/pads replacement

I've had warped rotors out of the box, it doesn't hurt to have them trimmed up on the brake lathe. Also, the technician needs to clean the hub before putting the new rotors on or they won't sit flat on the hub. I recently fought this issue on the wife's car, replaced the front pads and disks...

    Airbag deployment complications

With a bonus "Copart" aspect to the question. I've been searching for a D2 or cheap LR3 as I would like to have my own LR3 that I can modify for trails and add some ham radio and other things that the bride has decreed will not happen to our Winston, which is sensible as our LR3 is a really...

will bad timing chain guides kill the engine?

Or maybe I should ask how long could a person get away with not changing them once the noise and DTC's start kicking in. I've been searching for an LR4 for the bride, found one at an attractive price, but it needs (according to the listing) timing chains and chain guides. Research tells me that...

2008 LR3 Keyless Entry Not Working

I had some trouble with my key, it came to me with the buttons worn out so I swapped the fob case with one of the ebay ones. Was still having trouble with erratic operation so I folded up some electrical tape and put it under the battery for some extra support, did the job.

    19" offroadish tires?

I did ask and they've come back with being from a 2008 LR3, which would be really good for me since that what I have. People don't always know for sure though, someone sold me BMW X5 rims that weren't from an X5 at all. I'm new to the modern Rover world and was actually surprised to find that D2...

    19" offroadish tires?

More highway than offroad, my off roading is going to be fairly casual, but there is enough sand and mud in spots to warrant something better than street tires. And rotating is a half hour work in the garage, hardly enough for a beer, unless the wheels tend to seize to the hubs like the bride's...

    19" offroadish tires?

I've been looking at the Dynapros. Hankook tires have always worked well for me, good grip, well constructed and wear like iron. Why LR put 19's on is a mystery to me, especially when 18's are also a factory fit.

2013 LR2 To buy or Not to buy?

It would be financially risky to finance any used vehicle over 72 months, consider that if it is a stretch then maintaitence is going to need to be considered also.

    19" offroadish tires?

Yeah that's my concern, I have a LR3. It would be a 2 hour drive to go see them and it wouldn't be the greatest fun to burn up precious weekend time for the wrong rims. I stole the picture from the listing to see if that helps?

    19" offroadish tires?

Trying to get find some more aggressive tires for the 19" HSE rims, leaning towards Hankook rw11 ipikes as we've had good results with those, what are you all doing for tires? Right nowvit's riding on a very road oriented tire, OK ish for now but don't trust them for winter and off road.

    Problems With the LR3

Hello, just bought a 08 LR3 HSE that looks and feels to have been dealer maintined for it's 159K lifetime, 3 pages worth of Carfax services, the only items that need immediate attention is the change holder (some people put tobacco ashes in them, I've seen it done!) won't stay retracted and my...

Series IIa to LR3 with a long gap in between

Good morning to everyone, just found a 2008 LR3 HSE and have put a few hundred miles on it, and feeling like a king driving it. My first Land Rover was a Series IIA 88' petrol, which I owned back in the late 1980's. It was slow, leaked and leaned and came with a hand crank which I used more...
