Has anyone run the Rubicon Trail in an LR3 or LR4?

Someone did it in a LR3 years ago, and it was an event. I believe they ripped off a LCA and broke an air strut. That may have been the fault of the poly bushes, but it is a HARD trail for a rig like these. https://expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/an-lr3-on-the-rubicon.159420/...

LR4 - Is there an equivalent in ride/driving experience?

    Honestly, LC200 or Rivian R1S.

LR4 - Is there an equivalent in ride/driving experience?

    They’re amazing. It’s like someone built a D110 correctly.

LR4 - Is there an equivalent in ride/driving experience?

You ever drive one? They drive like tanks, not in a good way. A lot more stuff than an air suspended LR.

    2010 LR4 Off-road wheel and tire options

I’ll probably come off as an asshole here, but it’s pretty well documented that the poly bush arms will break like that. **** happens, but I think the “plan for an inevitable air suspension failure” thing is outdated.

    2010 LR4 Off-road wheel and tire options

Keep your **** maintained and carry a GAP tool, maybe even some air line if you really plan on getting out there and don’t worry about failure. It isn’t 2008 anymore, no reason to just always plan for air suspension failure.. it really doesn’t happen. No one builds a Toyota and runs small tires...

Think about Added a 2nd battery

portable battery tech is so good right now I don’t see any good reason to mess with a permanent battery. Those traxide kits are really expensive.

Heavier wheel/LT tire combo "skipping" across pavement?

There are countless other people running that wheel and tire combo without issues and even heavier tires, too. I’d start checking all your suspension bits after settling on the air pressure. My AT3s were E rated as well.

Heavier wheel/LT tire combo "skipping" across pavement?

Yup I think you only need to run 2-3psi above stock on that size E rated to meet factory GVWR. Remember you don’t need to run the higher PSI in the rear when empty, it’s just spec’d that way in the US. I also shredded two AT3s in my D1. Not to discourage you since you’re already running them...

Heavier wheel/LT tire combo "skipping" across pavement?

I had Coopers on my D1 and hated them on the road, I found them unpredictable and they sucked in rain. What’s your tire pressure?

Everything about tires for LR4/ LR3 with 18" wheels

PSI depends on the load range. If they’re load range E, you need to be a few pounds higher than stock to be at the OEM carrying capacity.

    Maiden Voyage (Boat Sunk)

    Maiden Voyage (Boat Sunk)

If you had a GAP tool, it’s possible you could have jacked up the air suspension all the way and it would have gotten you out easier. But if you’re high centered on the undercarriage and the ruts are from bigger tires than yours, you’re SOL. I got stuck real bad like that in my old Jeep in...

When is it time to say goodbye?

Suffolk county, NY, USA. Single use plastics are pretty terrible and we should avoid them whenever possible… but this is a Land Rover forum so let’s keep it that way, eh?

When is it time to say goodbye?

No one is ever going to ban gas vehicles off of the road, outside of maybe major cities. Single use grocery bags have been banned in my county for years and we can still buy as much 93 as your wallet can allow.
