Made an appointment for timing chain fix

But I would be suspect of anyone claiming to be an LR specialist… with not 1 LR in sight. Both the dealer and the highly regarded inde in my neck of the woods (yes, even the dealers redirect their clients to them as does JLR Amer) ALWAYS have too much work to do.

    Lr4 Brakes

I’m glad that’s your experience. Certainly isn’t mine on the xjr.

    Blinking headlight

@Al Pizzica , interesting. That has never happened to me. Despite the theme of installing the brightest bulbs possible, I typically don’t. The reason is the brightest intense white bulbs actually provide little “***********” in inclement weather like snow, rain, fog and a lot more...

    Lr4 Brakes

Not to discount what anyone has shared so far but my experience is anytime I deviate from OEM, I am disappointed. The parts, despite the marketing mumbo jumbo never live up to the component they replace. Brakes is an example… Firstly, low dust = poor stopping performance. Fancy rotors = poor...

@f1racer328 , Where did you get that attachment!? I’ve been looking for similar technical resources. Cheers.

    Front Bull bar Lr4 2014

I have thought about this too. However, firstly, I have never needed the winch for myself. Secondly, the clearing of the trail is done by a 4wd tractor with a bush hog… or a chainsaw. There is no need for me to plow down trees like I used to do with a deuce or the 5 ton. So, I’m back to my tow...

Interesting read on Diff fill capacities.

Or…. measure what you drain… One thing for certain, heated fluids expand. Overfilling can be catastrophic. There are many resources online from differential manufacturers/experts that emphasize the importance of not overfilling the case.

    Off-Road and/or Overland Terrain Conditions

Well, even after many years of driving very well off the beaten track while in the military, I learned something on the “Land Rover Experience”. We used LR4s. It was my wish as they were promoting the Defender. And let me tell you this: that LR4 of yours (if properly driven) can take much more...

Hot Hood. Hot engine compartment. Hot grill.

its summer. Temperature gauge shows no over heating. Unless you are throwing code (check engine light), relax. There are times when you could fry eggs on my hood…

Towing - I Have Not Done My Homework...

“never towed a trailer before”. If I may suggest, meaning no disrespect, That you attend a 1 day course on towing, with both practical and theoretical components to the course? There are many without experience on the road that are a risk to themselves and others.

    Driveline Vibration

Yeah… Sorry, not enough to go on. Vibration where? How did you surmise “vibration”. Steering? pedal? seat? Is there a corresponding sound? Whine? Are the tires in good shape and balanced? How are the suspension and steering components? Is it time for a stethoscope on the driveline components?

Help! LR4 Stuck Deep in the Woods

Unlike others, I doubt the source of your woes is the state of the spark plugs. This is old school thinking… with very old tech spark plugs. Perhaps an injector has failed. But 3 of them? Unlikely. Using the wrong octane fuel would be problematic, to say the least. I would start by ensuring 1...
