Toll-road RDIF sticker on LR4 windshield

Not where I live! I want that windscreen just the way it is... I don't care about scraping the windshield, I don't care about freezing rain... its all good, really.

LR4 Transmission Fluid Change: Pan Swap Option

Sure… but how often are you expecting to change the fluid and filter? Anyways, glad youre happy with your decision. I for one am sticking with the original solution as its been flawless to date.

LR4 Transmission Fluid Change: Pan Swap Option

You use the upper fill port. I will try to find the reference for you. I have to ask WHY are you considering a move to the steel pan from the provided polymer pan.. That has performed flawlessly to this juncture? Everyone that I know personally has moved back to the polymer pan as leaks...

Metal in my Oil LR2 2013

“metal fragments in the oil”…. you guys are braver than me. As I have done once on children's LR2, I’d replace the engine. Fix it and dump it on an unsuspecting individual?? I don’t play like that.

LR4 Transmission Fluid Change: Pan Swap Option

The only accurate instructions for maintenance on the ZF transmission, is from the authoritative source, ZF. You will discover that the procedure involves the filling via the fill port to full. Then start the engine and while running the engine, bring the transmission to proper running...

    Drivers Side Floorboard Wet

I contemplated removing the grill. But I was afraid of breaking the clips. So i just compared the length of cord to the length from the sunroof corner, to the A pillar, to the grill. Then, as others, poured a cup of hot water into the cavity.

    Drivers Side Floorboard Wet

That opening is pretty small…. and I’m a small guy. I placed plywood over the running rails and lied on it. Tried the ladder method but couldn’t get close enough to see it.

    LR4 Buyers Guide YouTube Video

Agreed. Moreover I find myself back and forth on the merits/disadvantages of the v8 vs the v6 (with the modern and improved transmission) eco-start and age of electronic components that have a finite lifespan.

Made an appointment for timing chain fix

Did I read the earlier message right? No way, I never reuse gaskets… as I want to avoid touching the component again over something as simple as a leak, that could have been avoided in the first place.

    Greetings from Manotick, On

Hi from Manotick. Where’s that you ask…. just a nice drive away from Manchester Vt, the Adirondack park, the Thousand Islands, Mont Tremblant, Mt Washington… all things fun and outdoors where the LR and I like to be. Thought I’d hear from a professional driver and played on the LR Experience...

Made an appointment for timing chain fix

True enough however, I’m a “fix it all at once” guy. Time is money and precious. Perhaps a position of negotiation on the additional work is in order, as opposed to just a complaint??

Range rover sport control arms on LR4

Granted, it was with the jags and not the LRs; I’m back to the oem bushings. All the other options were a major disappointment, one way or another. Besides, that thread “control arm failure” has me spooked!

    Control arm fail

Truly, I’ve found this to be the case for most driving systems parts. I‘ve tried non oem brakes on too many occasions on many vehicles. They never last as long and the performance is mediocre at best. So I agree with you, oem for essential systems. But I will entertain other suppliers for...

    Rear overhead climate vent replacement

I have dropped the headliner in many vehicles, though not an Discovery V... Takes a little time but it is not as difficult task as it may seem. If its like the other JLR vehicles, be gentle, its made of compressed cardboard. As such its very flexible.

LR4 to Defender direct comparison questions

Well, I don’t own the new 110… yet. (see my post in the D5 forum) But I did spend 1/2 a day with her at the LR Experience in Vermont. And they did let me have my way with her; not only off road, but on road, in the town, and on the winding country road… driving too fast. Don’t tell my LR4…...

    shopping for D5

I’m afraid I must agree…. or the new defender. I would be hopeful that a new vehicle was not always in the shop. As for sales, I suppose it boils down to what you use it for; the “sport” seems to accommodate different sorts of people from the LR4 or the Defender. I keep my LR4, mechanically...

I know you think that. But you stand corrected. Incidentally all the techs at This inde are certified master techs from JLR just a very few years ago. furthermore, whilst the local dealerships were under renovation, this shop was authorized to do warranty work. fwiw. Cheers
