2014 Land Rover Range Rover HSE - USED A GOOD CAR?

What catman says about the 3-year model fixes, is sort of in line with what I've been hearing that 2014-2015 models had issues with engines that were all fixed for 2016 models. So probably it's a good idea looking for a 2015.5 or newer.

    Approaching end of lease...decision time

KEEP IT! I did with mine and happy I did as its value for the money is way better than new Discos and competitors. I keep enjoying ownership so far.

    Extended Warranties

I bought a 2011 RRS a couple of weeks ago with 73k miles on it and in great condition. So far so good but when I asked the dealer about extended warranty he suggested not to as it was $4,400 and it covered only 18,000 more miles and 12 months. And that one was the best one in terms of coverage...

    Phone Mount For LR4?

WeatherTech accessory seems a good idea if you do not mind "loosing" one of the cupholders... https://www.weathertech.com/cupfone/?gclid=Cj0KCQiAtvPjBRDPARIsAJfZz0qFgWNCOsPyY503g45QRXooWcm33HB3wMjUbS8w_0-voOw4rl20feYaAsLcEALw_wcB

    Leaking Transmission Lines

Really?? Just 2 years old? At how many miles? These so called "common issues" by dealers are leading me to seriously look at the math again about maintaining a Land Rover vs getting a new/CPO SUV (not necessarily a LR) where this repairs are taken care of by dealer "free of charge".

    Transfer case front leak

Noticed a leak (a very small drip) and took it to the dealer to check it out. Transfer case from seal is leaking a little bit but to fix it you need to disable the transfer case as the seal in placed inside (dealer dixit). This thing wear but at 55k miles !!!??? Any one with similar issues...

LR3/4 lovers, fret not. Replacement maybe on the way.

That's what is coming about to be... Should start saving $250/month... Wait! That's around half of a lease payment on of a loaded VW Atlas V-6 4motion with 72,000 miles/6 years (almost) bumpers to bumper warranty!!! But I have to admit that I still love my 2012 LR-4 but a transfer case oil leak...

    Android integrated with factory screen

Indeed, $850 and it's about of the box. It is nice to have Car Play in your factory screen but the cost is high for the benefit you get. I rather buy latest iPad (either "regular" - $459, or Pro - $779) with cellular service as it has the GPS chip, or similar Android tablet. For me use would be...

    Michilin, Goodyear or Nokian? (19")

I have been using the Grabbers not only on my LR4 but also on my former ML320. Great wear and handling, handle very good in heavy rain, quiet, very good off-road (would not recommend in mud). I haven't used them in the snow but read from reviews they are good in light snow. That said, I have...

    LR4 Brake Pads: Aftermarket Alternative?

I replaced all original 4 pads and rotors at 40K. Used OEM Brembo rotors and Ferodo pads. Good performance so far and would recommend them. Considered Zimmerman but could not find them at the time.

Signs that LCAs need to be replaced

Hello LR4TQ. I suggest you read the following forum http://www.landroverworld.org/threads/front-lower-control-arm-replacement.29387/ I would recommend using original LR parts and they are just slightly higher than OEMs. You also have to decide either changing the bushings or replacing the...

    Front Lower Control Arm Replacement

Well... Replaced today both from LCAs This costed me $1,000 inc. labor+4-wheel alignment. :( All bushings in the old LCAs were wasted! Now it drives like new :). At 51.5K miles and 5 years of mostly around city driving it's a bit disappointing to replace LCAs on a LR4 with an alledgedly high...

    Lr4 Brakes

Follow up... Caliper pins checked OK but were lubed anyway. Ended up lathing the front rotors and shimmy was gone (!). Mechanic recommended to take it smooth 1st 50 miles (I'll do 100 rather). Disappointed with Brembo (front) rotors :( . Any rotor recommendations besides original (and...

    Lr4 Brakes

Well... Got a couple of days a noticeable bit of steering vibration while braking softly between 35 to 40 mph. Repair shop tested and they say I have a bit of warping on the front rotors! On Brembo rotors???!!!o_O Seems they can rectify (lathe) them and problem should go. Not a happy camper here...

    WeatherTech vs ? floor liners

I bought the OME mats as well including for the 3rd row seats. So far very good and great area coverage. Also I got them from local LR dealer cheaper than Weathertech.

    Roof Rails - Premature Aging?

Thank you TCM75 for the tip on "Flitz". From picture results I might give it a try soon. I have been using Meguiar's Natural Shine and it has worked very very good. When black/dark parts get too dull I use Mother's Back-To-Black.

    Lr4 Brakes

Mine lasted close to 30K miles before changing. I drive my LR4 bearing in mind a bit of physics... I drive it like a truck not like a VW Golf GTI (no offense intended to VW owners) However, when time to change came I went OEM: F/R Brembo rotors, Ferodo pads, LR brake sensors. Bought the parts...
