    Advice on peeling dash

If it is, I just wasted my effort and money on a replacement. I bet it’s southern heat kind of thing. Thinking of getting the windshield “tinted” with that ceramic stuff they have now, using a UV blocker product on the leather and throwing up a sun shade when I can’t park under cover.

    Hi Y’all!!

I have no firsthand knowledge of the rods, but lots of rovers run them with no issues that I’ve seen. Just get an alignment after installation.

    Advice on peeling dash

Based on the research I have done, the lux package does not change the dash material, the extended leather package does. Do you have a leather wrapped dash binnacle (the thing that is a good over your gauges) and the upper door area? You’ll see the stitches as a giveaway. If you have the...

Extended leather vs Standard in HSE Lux

I have a damaged dash for sale! I’m going to try and glue the leather back down and offer it up to whomever wants to pay for shipping. It would make a good replacement dash for an LR3 simply because the driver can’t see the damage if it’s glued down and stays. And I know you can see the LR3...

Extended leather vs Standard in HSE Lux

Correct. I have extended, cperez and rickyn have standard. I’ve noticed an issue where Tapatalk displays threads out of order sometimes so much that I’m pretty much only using it for notifications and quick posts.

Extended leather vs Standard in HSE Lux

He did. Post #7. He stated that he didn’t notice a difference until I posted a second set showing better details. No big deal. I can now 100% confirm I have part number LR044343 (smooth Windsor) and cperez has LR044209 (standard arabica material). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Advice on peeling dash

I didn’t find anything physically wrong with the dash plastics. The airbag was normal and the mesh and plastics that comprise the door to which the airbag pops through were all not broken. I did note the edge that goes under the black plastic by the windshield was much more stiff than the rest...

Really small world. I was a photographer for the Crimson White newspaper. I’m sure I’ve met her. I did football games and other minor events. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Extended leather vs Standard in HSE Lux

Same here. Like I said, I prefer the way yours is because it looks tougher. I use mine like a work truck and off-road hauler, so would like that look. And to be honest, I never noticed the difference until I started this project. I will concede though that with all that smooth type leather in...

Extended leather vs Standard in HSE Lux

Looks like you have the same as cperez with the non-Windsor leather. For what it’s worth, I prefer this look. I bet it’s a lux package thing, and then extended covers the binnacle and armrests. Who knows really. LR does some crazy stuff with interiors. I saw a ‘12 RR Sport with blue interior...

Extended leather vs Standard in HSE Lux

That is exactly what I needed. This definitely shows that I was wrong and that there is a difference between the two dash materials. Unfortunately, mine has the Windsor leather on the dash too, which means there is more than just the binnacle and upper door like the sales brochure says. Here...

Extended leather vs Standard in HSE Lux

This is what I want to know. Did you order yours new or buy used? The extended leather was a cheap option and most dealers added it so far as I can tell. Would it be too much trouble to ask for a photo to post here? I’m really hoping that LR is just charging the $1000 premium for the leather...

Extended leather vs Standard in HSE Lux

No fettish, but I do like things to match when possible. Thanks for the info! Photos always help. I’m sure I’m not the only one who is curious about this. The easiest way to tell like said above is the upper door trim and binnacle. If you can get a snap like what I posted above, that would be...

Extended leather vs Standard in HSE Lux

Does anyone have any good quality photos of the dash material covering on the upper dash on the non-extended leather package? I am trying to compare the difference in the two materials (if any) but LR has two different part numbers for it. I am asking because I'm trying to replace the upper...

    Advice on peeling dash

That's true. How'd you get all the way to MD? I looked all over the underside of the dash panel, and all I can find are some stickers that ID the part, but not by any part number we would know. It looks like Faurecia's part numbers.

    Advice on peeling dash

I inspected for obvious damage as to why the leather was peeling. I didn’t look for a number because I already had the parts ordered lol. I’ll look more closely for a number when I get home from work. Doing more searching I found that LR made a non-leather covered dash. The leather was part...

    Advice on peeling dash

Ok, so the saga continues. I get a call today from Land Rover Merriam that the part they listed as fitting my LR4 does not, in fact. Are there any parts gurus out there that can tell me the difference between these two part numbers? LR044209 LR044343 Only distinction I can find is the 209...

    Advice on peeling dash

Thanks. Looking at all of the parts and pieces and bolts and screws on my garage floor, I’m nervous about reinstallation also. I’m hoping that I can put it back together in such a way that reduces the creakiness of the interior when it gets hot.

    Advice on peeling dash

Well, I got it all out. Planning to order parts tonight. I hope I can get it all back in the right way when they get here! Thanks catman for suggesting the new parts site. Turns out, the new one is cheaper than the used one. Thanks Felix also for the service manual pages. From that, I was able...

    Advice on peeling dash

I’m not sure if it was like that when I bought it. I really didn’t notice it and I feel like I would have. However it is still possible. Nothing else on the truck looks water damaged as though from a flood. Carpet was not new and had no identifiers. Engine bay was washed but no rusty cap bolts...

    Advice on peeling dash

I plan on pulling it out soon, so I can tear it apart to see what it was. It’s definitely not the passenger airbag. It’s the only section that isn’t peeling! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Lol shrinkage. Since I’m kinda new to the LR community, does anyone know reputable used parts distributeurs? That’s step one - getting a good example of this dash panel.

    Advice on peeling dash

Water damage. I didn’t even think of water damage. It’s a pilkington windshield with an LR logo. I never was clued in to a replacement because of the brand on it. Looking much closer, I can see some trails of what look like liquid. Dang it. I think I’m just going to try and 3M outdoor tape it...
