    SoNV Meetup

Anyone in the Southern Nevada area interested in a meetup? Would like to meet other LR owners maybe for future exploration trips and exchange tips and tricks in owning a LR rig. Not a hardcore off roader but very much into mild to mid technical off-the-beaten path daytripping.

Why is the "most capable 4x4" so fragile ?

My LR3 has close to 150K miles and still goes on strong. Not a hard core off-roader myself. just taking the road less traveled during my daytripping explorations but has always taken me home on its own 4 wheels.

2006 Range Rover hse smog problem

On a side note, if you will wrench on the car yourself and do not mind using a non-branded OBD2 scanner can perform almost all functions a manufacturer specific scanner does, message me for info on the one I use. Don't worry, I won't sell you one, will just give you the info and where to get it.

2006 Range Rover hse smog problem

Most OBD2 scanners won't clear adaptation values. The ones specifically programmed for LRs will have the options to do it like the ones they sell at Atlantic British for about $400+. It clears engine/drivetrain adaptaion values since the ECU constantly learns and stores how the vehicle is driven...

2006 Range Rover hse smog problem

Had a similar issue not to long ago regarding Lean Banks 1 and 2 codes. Replaced MAF sensor, 02 sensors, PCV valve and intake O-rings, cleared the codes and after 20 mins of driving, ding! code came back. Bugged me for a few days then I remembered something about the ecu storing old adaptation...

Update. CEL all gone now after resetting adaptation values. Also, re-calibrated air suspension after installing Rhino rods on the front to level rig, happy with how it looks and runs now.

    HDC Module

The faults listed on your report does not point to the HDC module. Some of them are historic meaning it was stored in the ecu when it happened a while back. Clear all the codes first and see what faults come back which will signify current problems.

LR3 Add CarPlay without removing radio

Attached is a picture of the box the unit came in. I'll be honest since I was experimenting on which head unit will work for what I wanted to do, I opted to purchase a ebay unit first so that I won't be out a lot of money if it doesn't work. I got this unit for under a hundred bucks but found...

Yep, that's what I figured. I'll do it after I replace the seal but will have to wait since rig will be in storage for a couple of months while I head overseas.

Yup, even soaked it overnight to really get the gummed crud out. While soaking it, went in and dried out the oil residue inside the plenum coming from the PCV. Thinking of installing an oil catch can to reduce amount of oil going into the air plenum. I'll check it again when I replace the TB...

I know it!:) I'm using ICarsoft unit which helps out a lot. Unfortunately, the CEL came back and same thing. I did order a TB seal since I noticed that when I had to remove the TB to change the thermostat housing, the metal seal was worn out and coincidentally, this issue started coming up after...

This is probably too late but I just went through the same thing. I ordered the Delphi MAF online and light and codes went away for a few months but came back. No leaks, so I ordered actual sensor which is Denso then installed. Light would go out but would come back after driving for half a day...
