mpinco, do you know what your tongue weight is? I am about to pull the trigger on a Lance trailer the comes in at 5,000 lbs delivered to me but with a tongue weight of nearly 750. The dealer is questioning whether the LR4 can handle that tongue weight load.

Nice! A agree, you really did a nice job on that winch.

BTW, I love the PNW. Born in Seattle. Raised in Oregon. Our sons are currently in Seattle though our oldest is moving back to Denver. But I can envision a LOT of great camping in WA and the surrounding states with your setup!

I was pretty impressed with the OEM hitch. It locks right in and holds steady, despite the size. We use a stabilizer system and brake assist that worked smoothly as well. The height of the ball after installation was perfect and allowed our camper to pull while level. I may be a little leery...

Thanks! Questions/comments below... Great suggestion! We have been very disappointed with the dealerships here. And they carry very little Bullet or Premier inventory. The closest I can find is in Montrose or Durango! Were we to get one we would want to trade in our hybrid which is less...

OK. You definitely need something lighter if you need to pull it with a Wrangler! And my wife things the Cricket is, "So cuuuute!" Seriously, a bed, a kitchen, storage and even a shower. And you have great outdoors to do your business. What else do you need?

So you all are turning my views of trailering with our LR4 on its head. When I started down that path a year ago I came to the conclusion that, to pull our trailer, I needed a 3rd party receiver (which brought its own set of inconveniences) and I needed a Hensley hitch which, although it is...

Ditto what umberto said. I use this feature all the time to set the height of the LR4. I don't have a normal towing system so I don't have a ball but what I do have requires very precise height adjustments. Using the internal switch to set to Access Mode or Normal or Offroad is not precise...

If you are shopping for a MY16.5 LR4 be aware

Just to be clear, I didn't intend for anyone to be disappointed in the MY2016.5 because it is lacking the Voice Command. For many it will not be a big deal. And to be honest, though I use it for a few commands, I use "Hey, Siri" far more often than the voice command functions. And when I...

Ha! We drove by that campground yesterday and almost drove in to check it out. Nice trailer and nice additions. You are definitely ready for some boondocking!

Great area. Though our only venture north of I70/Moab was this past March and it had rained/snowed the night before. The road headed north was slick, muddy clay. It was like driving on ice only ice cleans off easier - a LOT easier. I had clay caked everywhere underneath. So the next day we...

    LR4 Landmark wheels and tires

Seconding the 265/60R18 BFG KO2s. I've had mine since early March when I put them on for a trip to Moab and Sedona. They are working out great. Even used them to cross a snow creek with ice banks soon after I put them on.

Where in So Utah is this? We really have enjoyed our couple of trips over there and plan to do many more. And, yes, the versatility of these vehicles is second to none.

Very nice! Pop-ups have come a very long way from the canvas-topped setup my parents had when I was a kid in the 1960's. ;-) Yours is pretty sweet. That slide out is a great idea. I can see the Rockwood touches. As for weight, our hybrid is about 6,000 loaded. Maybe about 6,200 if I...

We do like our hybrid. It is apparently the heaviest on the market (which I didn't realize when we bought it but just read this on the forum for that particular hybrid) so many owners move to a full on truck for their tow vehicle. But it has worked for us thus far. We do like having a shower...

    Live tire pressure monitoring

This is something I'm going to check out on my MY14. I don't remember this being an option but it would be nice. I have a Discount Tire with free pressure checks about a mile from my house. So I go by there often. But it would be nice while on a trip to check the pressure. Especially given...

That looks like an awesome pop-up. We've been happy with Rockwood products. Our current trailer is a hybrid as we like the "tent" feel that we had years ago with our pop-up.

Churious, I don't know where you live but if you are in Colorado I'll keep an eye out for you. I don't think you'll be hard to spot with a red trailer. Pretty awesome looking.

    LR5 Release Updates?

I showed those spy shots to my service/LR dealer guy yesterday. Rolling eyes and laughter. He did say that a good friend of his who works for LR "corporate" had seen a setup of the new Discovery painted in Camel Trophy yellow with an ARB bumper and other "stuff". Apparently it "looked"...

    Camping Trailer

Thanks. Good to know. I use Sport mode when I'm going off road, when I'm in the mountains or when I'm towing a trailer. All times when I am less likely to need S8, am not concerned about gas mileage and prefer to keep the engine running at higher RPM/in lower gears.

    Camping Trailer

That is an awesome pic/location! What trailer do you pull? I have thought about the Rhino hitch but my hitch, a Hensley, has a very specific draw bar and the hitch pin hole on the current Rhino hitch design is too deep for my drawbar to align with it. I can't get the bar in far enough to...

If you are shopping for a MY16.5 LR4 be aware

Yes. To clarify my OP, the ACC was an option but my dealership chose not to have it installed on any of their 16.5 vehicles. They have a number of HD Landmark models. But no ACC. As for the VC, it may not be that important for many people. But since I had grown accustomed to using it I...
