Simple, temporary off road lights to attach to my Yakima rack?

No worries. It led me to what I needed. Thanks! I should have them next weekend. I'll post pics once I install.

Custom ordering an LR4 for San Gabriel, CA delivery

Tom, have you already had all of this done? If so, what sliders did you go with? And wheels?

Custom ordering an LR4 for San Gabriel, CA delivery

BTW, it is not uncommon for automotive makers to have a finite (and usually small) set of models and option packages. Reduces cost. LR is actually more flexible on this than was Acura with their MDX or Lexus.

Anyone have 3 car seats in 2nd row?

The new Discovery (2016) will have sliding seats as the Discovery Sport has today. While retain the ability to configure the cargo floor space in various ways including flat. Per my dealer service lead who is pretty clued into this stuff. But not until then.

Anyone have 3 car seats in 2nd row?

You are right of course, Peter. Too many stories of what happens when people aren't buckled in. Some may fuss and whine (my Dad) but I can't imagine dealing with the sorrow that would come from injuries or worse in what otherwise would have been a minor accident. Umberto faced that experience...

Anyone have 3 car seats in 2nd row?

I'm sure you are right. We raised our kids in a slightly different era. Car seats were only for the little babies. And, heck, when I was growing up we were all wrestling around in the back of the station wagon while on road trips. My Dad still hates seat belts! ;-)

Simple, temporary off road lights to attach to my Yakima rack?

Hmmm. The imaged didn't come through. But I did go to the Rigid website and found a wiring setup with a 12v cigarette lighter adapter. Then found that on Amazon. Trying to find out if their small 12v floods or spots or Duallys would work with that setup. If so, I can run the wiring through...

    Showoff Your LR4

Thanks for the comments on Clear Lake, Tom. That was on our list when we were in Ouray last September but didn't get to it. Instead we went to Animas Forks, then up over Hurricane and California Passes then down Corkscrew Gulch. Other days we did around the Red Mountain mining district and...

Anyone have 3 car seats in 2nd row?

So put the 2 older kids in the 3rd row facing forward. The 3 month old in the left or right middle row seat facing backwards - facing the older kids who can then entertain the youngest. And then keep the other two middle row seats flat and possibly put your stroller there. When I was...

Putting in a stroller while all 3 rows are in use

Well your other option is to keep both rear seats up and one of the middle row seats and the center "seat" in the middle row down. That provides a decent flat space in the middle row which may work - unless you have the Yukon of strollers.

Easier garage fit and more maneuverable on trails and easier to park.

Putting in a stroller while all 3 rows are in use

Does this mean all 7 seats in all 3 rows? If you only need 6 seats then the left or right rear seat can be left down opening up a fair bit of space. Of course, when our kids were small w had one of those little strollers that would fit behind the deployed 3rd row. But these days the strollers...

    Picked Up new LR4 yesterday

Congrats! Looks great. Rear seat isn't "easy". I tend to leave one of them up most of the time. It does become a bit easier over time. Shorter than your F150? Yep. The LR4 is actually not that massive a vehicle - especially given its available interior space.

    Bugs Off

Serious? I need to try this just to see if it works. I love it when home grown stuff works as well or better than the expensive, "professional" stuff.

Simple, temporary off road lights to attach to my Yakima rack?

Being an amateur landscape photographer I am reaching the point where I need to be on location well before sunrise and after sunset. Some of these locations are on back roads. (Dark, rough, etc.) So I'm investigating some additional lighting to use while driving these roads. I don't...

    Showoff Your LR4

Not sure what route you are taking or when you are going. But I highly recommend that you pick up (online) the FunTreks books for the areas you will be passing through. Very popular with Jeep folks and other off roaders. We use them all the time and in fact I usually keep the Colorado ones in...

2015 LR4 Car and Driver article

I agree with colorover. (Maybe because we're both in Colorado?) I have never felt disappointed with the SCV6. Not that the additional HP and torque wouldn't be nice. But with my driving style I simply don't notice it. I could have done without the start/stop but I've gotten over it. I'm...

LR4 - soon to be the 'discovery' - new concept car... maybe out in 2016/7

I sat in a Discovery Sport at my dealership yesterday and talked for a while with my service rep. He has seen the new Discovery. What will be the 2016 Discovery. (No more LR4 but we already knew that.) The Discovery will look like a larger (longer, taller, wider) version of the Discovery...

    Over 150k miles

David, my service rep (dealer) told me yesterday that if I had a 2013 or earlier they would definitely recommend me doing this now and on a regular basis in the future. So he basically echoed what others have been saying. (Of course an Indy could do it. I happen to have a really good service...

    Over 150k miles

Other interesting, to me, tidbits from my conversation with my service guy today. I asked about changing the transmission fluid. He said 150K. He said that they don't like opening up the transmissions because of problems that can result so they actually recommend not doing it until 150K. He...

    Over 150k miles

My MY14 is having the 30K done today. My (very good) service rep told me that they are just about to get trained on a new/different system for the SCV6. A fluid based system. Was also told that my brakes are good until the next service interval. Awesome! But they are servicing the power...

    2014/2015 LR4 Brake pad wear

28K and still on my first set. No warning lights but I need to do my 30K service in the next couple of weeks and will not be surprised if they tell me it is time to change. Off road season is ahead and I want everything ship shape. BTW, my 28K miles are mostly highway as well since I don't...
