I agree, logically speaking there is nothing that can be argued. It's their company of course they can choose how they want to run it. I don't know about the rest of you, but it's nearly breaking my heart to see the direction they've gone. I really have zero and I mean zero desire to own any...- roverman

2010 LR4 fuel leak
I'm not sure how this works, isn't the fuel pump inside the gas tank? Does this mean that if you used the skid plate and dragged over a rock or something that you could crack the fuel pump housing?? -

It really is sad. In the past, a potential LR buyer could at least feel like an explorer in that when he got to the dealer, there'd be a disco or defender or something around if to do nothing else than remind him that the 'adventurer DNA' was still there. The glass is not leaking. The cold intake in the engine compartment is pretty much directly under the largest part of the warp in Todd's picture. There is only a small corner of the intake that is exposed to catch the water that gets by the cowling, which is why you only notice a wet floor... -

Exactly. Direct injection has a much bigger problem with carbon buildup. But you mean BG right? -

MMO is 90% napthenic oil and mineral spirits (60%/30%) There are certainly stronger carbon cleaners out there. But I don't want to totally dis it, many people seem to like it. -

Maybe a little of both??? I've never seen one warped like that! I'd probably start with talking to the windshield guys and see where that goes. There's no way you can prove it wasn't warped before they changed it, but that is REALLY warped. -

20/50 oil
No just a random guy on the internet. But I do know that the LR4 engine ticks louder than the average gasoline engine does. And that as stated above it's the DI injectors making the clatter. Obviously I don't know how loud yours are, but if it sounds a lot like an older VW or MB diesel engine... -

Could be you're right, I read it as "that will hold until I get the windshield replace and fix it for good". I might take things apart this weekend and see if things are built the same, maybe fix it before it's a problem. Let us know what you find out :) -

Why would you replace the windshield? The leak is (most likely) because the rain goes past the warped cowling and drips into the fresh air intake that for god knows why is located just under the windshield in the engine compartment. The silicone will probably work for a while, but the better... -

Not sure if it was mentioned, but have you tried a 'real' fuel injector cleaning? One where they hook you up to a machine rather than just pouring a can of something in? The tank additives are nice, but more for 'keep clean' maintenance than for really cleaning things up. Sorry for your... -

Is the rubber seal at the bottom of your windshield warped away from the glass a little bit? (That whole piece between the windshield and the hood is the cowling) Always wondered if this would happen on the 4 like the 3 but haven't heard much about it. Anyway don't worry it's a pretty easy DIY... -

Nifty use for plastidip - pre trail run
It peels off really easy, provided you put enough coats on. The only thing I would watch doing the fenders is to tape off the crack between the fenders and the body really good if you do it with the fenders on the truck. And post pictures because I've considered doing it too. :) -

Water leaks after it rains
I'm not sure if they fixed it with the LR4 (probably not) but the fresh air intake for the cabin was notorious for being the cause of leaks.. After the windshield cowling warped, rain would fall past it into the engine compartment, where the ridiculously designed intake would catch it and dump... -
