IID tool and TPMS
That's interesting. I'm almost sure that prior to turning it off, there was at least something in that sub menu that said 'pressure ok' or whatever (2013). Are you saying there is no way at all to know if it's even working? (short of letting the air out of a tire I guess, maybe I'll try that)... -

I think that mine literally says nothing but "WBL" And it doesnt work :) At least I think it doesn't work. If it worked, I'd be able to check the air pressure through the menu on the display, right? I'm not sure why the GAP guys started ignoring me, they were very helpful at first and then... -

I've got the passive entry as well. To this day I don't know why they made the fob open-but-dont-open option. Land Rover thing or not, it's just plain dumb. -

Front tow hook. Removing plastic cover?
That's not even close to what they wanted to gouge me for. I don't remember exactly how many I wanted, maybe 6 or so and the bill was going to be $50. I must have made enough noise about it because somebody ended up just giving them to me! -

It's funny, I haven't even tried to open the hatch with the fob in almost 3 years of owning an LR4. I just assumed it words the same as the LR3, which is to say, doesn't work. Guess I should try it! -

Anyone? Gap team told me: Leave TPMS 1 alone set TPMS 2 to "TPMS fitted" Problem is that it still doesn't seem to work. My TPMS 1 is set to WMB (I think) but I don't know if that's right and haven't gotten an answer yet as to what it should be. This is all under "menu---car config---body... -

Is it still ugly?
It's funny, I don't hate the truck or it's looks (can I still call it a truck?) but I do dislike it very much as a replacement for the LR4. Yes the back is the worst part, but then again I didn't like the LR3 or 4 rear end for at least 6 months after I got it. Overall, it's 'fine', just not...- roverman

Oh I know ALL about the noise! My LR3 sounded like it was gonna send parts flying at startup, but then calmed down in a few seconds. The dealer wanted somewhere around $5000 to fix mine. Independent said at least $3500. The dealer also said it was rare on LR3s and much more common with the... -

Agreed, timing belt issue is huge. I'm not sure how many have problems, but it's a $6000-$8000 problem if you do! -

Gap tool
Hey my hat's off to you if you have a solid handle on using this thing. I sure can't. Turning off TPMS was easy. Once you find the setting, there's a clear "TPMS off" setting. But to turn it on, there's about 25 different settings, all in different mumbo jumbo I have no idea what the correct... -

Traction/Stability control on snow and ice?
Donuts not so much but with the TC off (and maybe even put it in sand mode) and you can definitely have some fun power sliding. With the TC on you're not going to get sideways for more than a second before it shuts it down. -

Re the engine and why not. Personally I rarely use the bottom half of the accelerator as it is with my 4. Big engines are cool and all, I just don't drive that way, and it doesn't prove anything off road, (nor do 20" wheels) so why spend the extra $10,000 or so for it? If I'm being honest... -
