    CPO warranty

The dealer told me that I HAVE to have the annual service done BY THEM, which includes DIY crap like pollen filters and oil changes in order to keep the CPO in effect. I don't know if they are BSing me. It'd be hard to believe they wouldn't cover the control arms or the compressor because I...

    CPO warranty

Hi all, I'm picking up my brand spanking used 2013 LR4 this weekend! My first of thousands of questions is about the CPO warranty. How many scheduled services are there between 25000 and 100000 miles? Sounds like I have to do them to keep the warranty going? Do they HAVE to be done at the...

Warning: It's hard to stop the ball once you get it rolling! Thanks.

Million $$$ Question, what to do with my aging LR3

Thanks Paul! I'm still sitting here sort of perplexed at myself, but I'm sure it will be fun. I never had squeaky door handles, but good to hear it won't be a problem. Looking forward to the pushbutton start, the engine, and the better seats most of all. I might pull out the third row...

Million $$$ Question, what to do with my aging LR3

Well sh*t, that changed quickly! Called on a LR4 just for grins like I have several times in the last 6 months. Nara bronze 2011. It was sold but they had a Coris Grey 2013, certified HSE...I asked what options and jokingly said if it had HD, I'd buy it. Bottom line is I'm picking up a 2013...

    LR5 Release Updates?

It must be one hell of a tight rope to walk to continue to pussify the brand (yes, it's a word), while at the same time convincing everyone that it is still the best 4X4XFar. I would very much doubt that the 'extreme' package even gets us back to where we are now. All the money spent on all...

Million $$$ Question, what to do with my aging LR3

Same exact boat. I'd like to get something 'new' but absolutely nothing makes sense. The 4runner was the closest to sway me, but it's lacking so much of the comforts that I've become used to. The TRD pro is cool, but for some reason, Toyota didn't want to give it real leather, push button...

Will it cause any issues in the LR3 if I coast in neutral gear for a long time?

quick question: Is it true that coasting backwards and in reverse actually fills your tank bank up?

2015 LR4 Car and Driver article

I'm curious what they are asking for it too! Although my guess is that it's over my price range. Thought these things used to depreciate...

    Swinging Weights

Well the literal answer to what gives, is the weights do :) They are harmonic dampeners and they are supposed to give to do their job of dampening vibrations. Everything is A-OK.

    RR AFS Llocation

and you might want to try the ffrr section. Personally I'm guilty of not knowing what an AFS even is. range rovers dot net might have some good info for you. Good luck! quick google search, it looks like it's a thin rectangular item, located right under the main headlight access point on the...

I need the specs for the 18" Compomotive PD1880

Oh, my...somebody really needs to work on that site! I would never ever have found them on there - and no description whatsoever about the rims. But thanks for the info Umberto, I've been pre-planning my probable LR4 'upgrade' so it's nice to know there is a source here.

    Bad wheel bearing

Hey CMG, did you buy one or two hubs? Should have bought two and saved on freight. It's been just 13 days since I put the left one on, and I heard the right one start squealing today.

Yep, good to know - thanks!

    Bad wheel bearing

After thinking about it, I realize that I basically reused the nut. I torqued it to 230, and knocked the flange into the keyway, then decided that there was way more evidence that 350 was correct, so I tightened some more and hammered a new part of the flange into the keyway. Due to it being a...

    Bad wheel bearing

I'm not going to be the one to say it's not necessary, and I don't usually change the oil drain plug, haha. It actually probably isn't totally necessary, but it's available online. If you have a day or two, I'd suggest getting it. Very cheap insurance.

    Tonga green bumper

LOL, I was indeed just funnin' with you. You know, devil's advocate and stuff! Any Rover is a great rover of course....unless it's riding dubs! (did I say that correctly?)

    Tonga green bumper

It could hurt.... Anyone who knows enough to know that those lights and tail lights are LR4, will also know as soon as they look at the interior that it's just a dressed up LR3, thus making you a poser, trying to impress with stuff, rather than with substance. You might as well by a Fiero and...

Land Rover LR3 reliability - how does it truly compare?

You know, this thread has been going on for 8 years now...I have to admire your perseverance.

    Tonga green bumper

Since there aren't any Tonga LR4s, I imagine you'd have to paint it. seems like a lot of expense to me, but if it makes you happy then go for it! And post pics :)

    Bad wheel bearing

Well, that wasn't too hard. Kind of a pain to knock off the old hub but other than that not too much to it. Took a couple hours, probably can whittle 1/2 hour off that when the next one goes.

    Bad wheel bearing

    Thanks for the confirmation!

    Bad wheel bearing

No it's not just you. I didn't even know they made torque that high! :stupid:

    Bad wheel bearing

I bought a hub bearing from atlantic british for 250, going to tackle it Tuesday. I'm not 100% sure from all I've read, but I THINK the torque on the lock nut (if that's what it is called) is 258 ft. lbs. But I've seen a bunch of different numbers in my searching. It actually doesn't sound...

What is the average lifespan of an LR3 alternator?

I'm sure it's not OEM. But it seems to be 'alternating', we'll see for how long!
