Well sh*t, that changed quickly! Called on a LR4 just for grins like I have several times in the last 6 months. Nara bronze 2011. It was sold but they had a Coris Grey 2013, certified HSE...I asked what options and jokingly said if it had HD, I'd buy it. Bottom line is I'm picking up a 2013... -

Swinging Weights
Well the literal answer to what gives, is the weights do :) They are harmonic dampeners and they are supposed to give to do their job of dampening vibrations. Everything is A-OK. -

After thinking about it, I realize that I basically reused the nut. I torqued it to 230, and knocked the flange into the keyway, then decided that there was way more evidence that 350 was correct, so I tightened some more and hammered a new part of the flange into the keyway. Due to it being a... -

I'm not going to be the one to say it's not necessary, and I don't usually change the oil drain plug, haha. It actually probably isn't totally necessary, but it's available online. If you have a day or two, I'd suggest getting it. Very cheap insurance. -

Well, that wasn't too hard. Kind of a pain to knock off the old hub but other than that not too much to it. Took a couple hours, probably can whittle 1/2 hour off that when the next one goes. -

I bought a hub bearing from atlantic british for 250, going to tackle it Tuesday. I'm not 100% sure from all I've read, but I THINK the torque on the lock nut (if that's what it is called) is 258 ft. lbs. But I've seen a bunch of different numbers in my searching. It actually doesn't sound... -

What is the average lifespan of an LR3 alternator?
I'm sure it's not OEM. But it seems to be 'alternating', we'll see for how long!
