How many miles did the Coopers last?

18 in wheels wanted for LR4

Eljefe, You do know that Land Rover 18" rims won't fit the LR4, don't you? The only rims that do are Compomotive. Just wanted you to know that before I became tempted to sell you some LR3 18" rims, haha.

largest 19 in tire that fits

Every 19" tire will fit a 19" wheel! (Am I being too literal?) Somebody will correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the only tires made in this size are stock size.

Paul, That's crazy about your brakes. Seems like any decent mechanic should know that, although I have to confess that I had no idea about EPB service mode and have put new rotors and pads on a probably 1/2 dozen times with no problems. But there's something to be said or doing it right the...

    Rover Advice

Labor is one thing, the dealer in my experience doesn't charge enough more to worry about, maybe $20/hr. Where I've found the savings is that Indies don't charge so much markup for parts. Again in my experience. The best example is that the dealership wanted $30 for a license plate bulb. But...

    Showoff Your LR4

Oh man, $900? Do it yourself for $250. It's not too hard, I'm not super mechanical, and the other side will fail soon... Atlantic British has a YouTube video that is very easy to follow.

    Rover Advice

It's not for sale online. If you want PM me your email or phone # and I can send you a few details and pics - although I haven't detailed it yet so it's dirtier than the one you posted! Personally, I can see the $3k happening easily, but not every year. I have spent $2k this year, and no more...

    Well she's here!

Thanks Umberto! You're like the LR4 whisperer around here. Very glad to have you around! Regarding the horns they are hard to find in a panic. Sort of like the motorcycle I have. The horn button is eactly the same as the cancel turn signal button, but on opposite side of the handle bars...

    Well she's here!

Surfrider, that looks really great. Much better than monochrome - all silver IMO. i might look into this plastidip and try it out. If it looks good, I might try to pick up some black LR3 (would they fit?) wheel arches. Latest 'WTF is going' on moment. Sirius keeps scaring the shit out of...

    Well she's here!

Hey Surfrider, what did you do to black out the vents and the grill? Do you have close ups of it? I like it, looks good. At least in that tiny avatar picture it does!

Ah that makes sense. A little anyway. Thanks!

    Well she's here!

I've thought of some tint but hadn't researched it so thanks for the Laminix heads up. I have a new question. I see I have a hatch release on my remote. I press the button, the hatch partially releases, then I go through the same motion I always would have to get it fully released and...

    K & N Air Filter?

I would say you are 1/2 right. But they are also highly discouraged. Probably one of the more hotly debated topics you can find about cars. The fact that they have that warranty mentioned above at all shows how much debate there is. Personally, I've tried them a few times, never seen any...

Part number for LR4 rear brake pads

That's interesting. The kit you posted for $889 talks about it being the budget/economy kit. But then there's one with Hawk pads for 1/2 the price so that sounds a little budgetier. I'm curious to see what they tell you, I've seen it a few times where they don't advertise it as OE, but it...

Micro-Start XP-10 jump starter - Tested, it works great

I think he wanted to jump the car with the Mac? A little short on amps... Cool product, thanks for the video!

    Well she's here!

Thanks everyone! Paul, I'm not sure how many they had. I originally called on an '11 but honestly went sort of gaga over the '13 when they told me it had the HD pack, hadn't seen one in months. That and the CPO sold me. They've definitely got good pricing though. The same truck at my local...

    Well she's here!

OK, you are both forgiven. Embarassingly wrong, but forgiven, lol. Maybe I'll get used to them, but they look like disco balls in there, and from the side -OH MY- they are so bad. At least they are behind me when I drive so I can't see them. And I'll start backing into my garage at night...

    Well she's here!

Got the new used LR4 this past weekend! For the most part it's crazy ass amazing. I'm actually really surprised by how old it makes the LR3 feel. They've already become fast friends, will be hard to get rid of the 3, it's been a very good rig. I'm sure I'll have plenty of comments...

    wheel spacers

Oh, I didn't know you use them. Great to hear, I am really glad to hear from someone with actual experience. I think you misunderstood - I was planning on using the 18" in the winter with Nokians or whatever, then put the Duratrac or LTZ on the 19" in the summer. But if they are perfectly OK...

Is there any logic to wanting a used LR with high miles over low miles?

I suppose if you really did your research and found a higher mileage one that had most of the common repairs done, then it could save you quite a bit. On my LR3, I did the front hubs, alternator, control arms so they should all be good for quite some time. But at 108,000 miles, I have not...

    wheel spacers

Jwest, I figured for snow because they won't get as much stress and I'd use for fewer miles each year. Can you even tell they are on? Wondering if they look a little silly. If someone said they look and perform great, then the ideal situation would be to use them in the summer and open up the...

    CPO warranty

Thanks for that Paul, I'll check as well. I've got time, since they performed the service for the CPO. Picking up tomorrow!

    wheel spacers

So, is this the worst thing ever to put on a LR4? It's kind of enticing because I have a set of 18" rims with snow tires. I would only do it for the winter (maybe 4 months), easy driving. I've read some anecdotal stories about them falling off and whatnot. But if they were torqued right...
