    brake clicking

Well, I don't know that there's much to do about it. Took it apart, there's a little white 'switch' that rocks 20 or 30 degrees and allows the gearshift to move. It just sort of knocks against it's stops in either direction. At the very least I didn't (appear to) break anything!

    brake clicking

Well I'm sure sorry about that, LOL. I know it hasn't done it before because I'm super super tuned in to (and then super super annoyed by) sounds like that. Maybe it'll just go away on it's own like my squeaky mirror did? I guess you're right about it needing to do something to 'unlock' the...

    brake clicking

Just today I started hearing/feeling a clicking noise. Only in neutral or park, and with the accessories switch on or the car running, there is an audible clicking noise that can also be felt through the gear shift nob when I either press or release the brake pedal. It definitely hasn't...

LOL. Discovery Sport Named One of CR's 4th Worst Cars in 2015

Good, maybe they will get back to building trucks! As JWest alluded to, I can't believe that the only thing they've managed to do with the terrain knob is terrain settings. Like BMW, that thing ought to control most of the infotainment settings. But it sounds like there are way more problems...

    Need help troubleshootung EAS issues

I just watched a youtube about this very thing. I'm not sure if it was AMK though. Might want to look for it, before ya break something!

    Alternator - OEM or Aftermarket?

My aftermarket has been ok, probably only about 10,000 on it though. For the price, I'd only have to get more than 30,000 to be ahead of the game.

    Yet another EAS Fiasco

cmb6s. Good info. Mine is settling over a few days time as it sits by the street, waiting to be sold :( Maybe it's just pissed at me. Good tip on the fuse thing, I was wondering if it was slowly adjusting over the days. So that's a easy place to start. Also, why from the center cap to the...

    Water leaking onto passenger floor

Here is a nice write up by tlt on another board. http:// www. disco3. co.uk/forum/topic76762.html Copy that, paste it, and then remove the spaces - You can either replace the cowl or if you're cheap like me, buy a small piece of aluminum flashing and cut it to the shape you want and rivet...

    Third row seats!

So, after listening to us bicker for 3 pages, what are you going to do???

    Third row seats!

The 35-35-30 split was an option, the bare bones stock second row has the bottom you flip forward and then lay the seat backs down. Takes up about 4-5 inches of valuable space for the tall. And I don't think it laid quite as flat, but am not certain. I've had an air mattress in there before...

    Third row seats!

Oh not to worry, it wouldn't even come close to phasing me, free will and all that... Anyway, I said it wouldn't bother ME to not have seatbelts ( I also don't think it would be hard at all to install them). I don't have to worry about it, heck, all I have left back there in mine IS the...

    Third row seats!

If you're going to compare apples to apples regarding safety and your conscience, you have to compare similar crashes. I would waaaaaay rather be unbelted in the 3rd seat of a 5700 lb truck if someone crashes in to me at 60 (or any speed) than helmeted on the back of a 500 lb motorcycle. If...

Dash Cracks, Now You See Them, Now You Don't

My 10 1/2 year dash looks as new as the day it was born! One of the few benefits of living where it's rarely sunny I guess.....

    Third row seats!

Yeah really. I'd take them for a motorcycle ride too. Or even canoeing. Statistically, canoeing is more dangerous. I'll stop now. I know I'm not adding anything to this thread. It's certainly nothing personal, I just wouldn't be too concerned about it.

    Kaymar Bumper Question

if you get a chance, could you take a picture from a distance behind or in front of the truck? I've been thinking about going with spacers, and have wondered if it would look silly. It looks totally fine from the angles in your post. Thanks.

    Third row seats!

Yeah, I was thinking you were referring to airbags, but still overstated IMO. I'd be able to let someone sit back there unbelted on occasion and still care about 'em. Fortunately I don't have to worry about it though, never have that many passengers!

    Kaymar Bumper Question

That's a great first post, thanks! I like that bumper, still undecided if I want to get one though. More importantly, are those BFG's on 18s? What's going on there?

    Third row seats!

Maybe just a little bit of an overstatement. People did drive before airbags were invented you know, I'm sure there were at least a few that cared about their passengers but did it anway...

    Third row seats!

The back of the third row seats folds to the level of your wood panel. That styrofoam piece under the wood panel is where the folded seats lie. I just pulled the seats out of my 13 and I'd be completely surprised if the holes aren't there on the 5 seater. It wouldn't make any sense to not...

    Opinions wanted...

I've got a motorcycle (R1200GS) and am torn between which to take when i go off on an excursion, so I'm no help to you there. But the LR3 is a fantastic truck, you'll enjoy it more than the FJ Cruiser. I've got a 108k mile '05 for sale, if that is the way you choose to go, feel free to PM me...

    First Rover

If you're going to keep it, be prepared to spend money. Plenty of things can go wrong, as with any car with that many miles. I might get the alignment checked, but I see no reason that they would pay for it, even if you didn't smash it into a pothole, I don't think alignments have any...

    First Rover

It's easy and cheap enough to replace the brake sensors, easier still to just bypass the sensor by twisting the two wires that are in it together. Are you saying that you were driving at speed and hit that pothole that was deep enough to scratch your control arm?!?! If that's the case, I would...

    VVT clatter

Don't think that's it. Changed twice since and very regularly over its life. Also tried sea foam, a real engine flush, and a few other additives.

    VVT clatter

I can't recall anybody on this site having this problem, which is that the variable valve timing actuator makes a clattering noise upon startup. It lasts for about a second and then disappears. From what I've read elsewhere, it doesn't really cause any damage so I haven't fixed it. Anybody...
