20” wheels, both sets OEM. it first happened with my factory tires on factory rims. Then I changed to snows on OEM rims and it kept happening. Shop is local best eurocar guy. Wheels balanced. -

Will our LR4's be desirable in 10 - 15 years, or are they just another modern day LR?
If I look hard and concentrate I see many D5s. The problem is they’re well camouflaged. They look like so many other vehicles that unless you’re looking for them specifically they’ll go right by. Unnoticed. -

Very high idle, 2800 RPM
I just quickly flick the shift knob - it doesn’t even engage. I think it sends some electrical signal. -

I’ve noticed that when I start and the engine idles at 1200 if I just momentarily put it into reverse and quickly out again the rpm drops to 600 whether or not the engine has warmed up. Perhaps you could try quickly putting it in/out of gear and see if the rpm goes to normal. -

The BBB isn’t worth much unless a business is a notorious crook, but you might first check to see if there are complaints. Is he rated online? Now here’s something I can’t amswer but it might be important. What could he have possibly done, assuming he wasn’t being malicious? -

Making a case for the D5
Nicely stated! The D5 might be a magic carpet offroad but to my eyes it looks absurd in a trail situation. Just inappropriate. It looks perfectly fine in a suburban driveway. I’m glad I have an LR4 and won’t get a D5 for that reason. There is a fundamental disharmony in the D5. -

Is the LR4 good for daily highway travel?
I’ve got a 2016 LR4 with 26k on it. I get between 15 and 21 mpg, measured. The 21 is on the Maine turnpike where it’s flat and fast. We love the car. It’s terrific to drive even in dense NYC traffic. Overheating after coolant crossover replacement
Holy cow! How many of these vehicles are on the road and what’s a reasonable market penetration estimate? Really doesn’t look good. I suspect most would be willing to pay $200 retail for peace of mind. Unfortunately I don’t think it works. Frank
